Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

          • I think most colours look good fully painted, but the white is a winner.

Drop it 3 inches, honeycomb on the front and it will look sweet.

                        sure do:

                        Before

                        After

It's bouncier like others have said (H&R with stock struts), but the handling has improved comparing to stock springs, (still need to test out the traction). control arm bushes and FSB will be next, then in about 5000 to 10000 km, Bilstein B8.

                        • got my full apr exhaust fitted today (thanks guy and james) as it turns out after i took out my spare and insulation the basin where the spare used to sit just turns it into a big string instrument amplifying the noise. i put the spare in tonight and it was fine. might head over the clark rubber for some solutions tomorrow a nice big piece of insulation foam should do nicely so i can remove that 17kg wheel again . top end is definatly improved and shes got a nice growl to her now.

Still trying to decide whether or not to H&R mine. I'm just concerned that the stiffer ride might make the interior rattles heaps worse

Will be interested to see how yours goes over the next few months!
