Another not happy Awesome GTI customer. I ordered my suspension in September and I'm still waiting on a component that was originally broken in transit. Whilst they have been good in getting the replacement part sent wihtout any cost to me, everything with them seems to take an awful long time.

Communication from them is pretty poor over all (expect to wait a few days for a response to anything).

Any day now, any day now...
I guess i was a little luckier, as i had this one person who follows up my emails the whole way through, (his name was AL) and pretty much replys same day or the next day each time i email him. (except for when he was on holidays two weeks ago, another person took over, and his comm was slow, and didn't give me a tracking number. didn't get my tracking number till AL returned from leave)

Overall product price was good, shipping cost was lower but takes about a 5 weeks (including product ordering time, between awesome GTI and the supplier), Communication was ok, depending on who you are dealing with, i would rate it as average.

Sure mate, depends on how i go, if it's too hard, i may end up getting it done by Volkspower in Burwood, Dean from there said it's a F**ker, and it can take 45mins or upto 3 hours, so the price varies.

I'd prefer DIY anyway, but the sky is looking abit dull today, dont wanna get caught in the rain half way through.

          • Installed the Forge TIP today

Thanks to Blitzen's instructions, all went well, done in just under 3 hours, would definitely be longer without the instructions.

Engine cover and air filter box removed.

            Stock and Forge TIP

I also removed the three bolts from the bracket on top of the gear box that holds the two cables in place, not sure what cables they are (clutch cable?), they are lucky i didn't cut them

            TIP installed

Everything back on, and a quick wipe, she's looking a little cleaner now

            • Good to hear it all went well...

Interested to hear your findings on if there has been any improvement.

I've only just got APR chipped (version 2) 10 days ago, so I'm uncertain if this is actual improvement.

I trialed the APR version 1 software, the version 2 is very smooth compare to version 1, and after installing the Forge TIP it feels like it's reving up to redline quicker, and I'm not sure if this is right, before the TIP, at 6500rpm 1st gear it was 60Km/hr, and now it's 65 to 70Km/hr, but i can be reading it wrong previously.

                            • My worksop did a quick test of a mufflerectomy before we do the entire exhaust system. Seemed to be a noticeable improvement. Not huge but enough.

                              • New Seat solid rear wishbone bushes and Redline gearbox oil thanks to Jmac.

Gear shifts are nice and snickety and it's much less whiney.
Low speed clunking on rough roads seems to be gone with the new bushes.
