Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

        Fitted my Seat Intake.

I dropped a screw for the trumpet in the car and it fell into the radiator fan and into some cowling around it.

I tried pulling off the thermo fans and decided it was too hard and too many coolant lines in the way. Got some magnets on the end of a piece of wire and went fishing for the screw.

2 hours later the car was all better. I also washed a fair bit of salt off the car from being at the beach yesterday.

Gave it a wash in the rain and took off the Forge TIP in preparation for a service early next month. Didn't know when I would have another oppertunity before the service so while it was cold did it and will now have to live it for 3 weeks in std form.

Used the oppertunity to also replace all the factory clamps on the TIP with easier to use screw type clamps. Makes the job quicker and less painfull.

Started detailing the Polo. This is the front wheel, before & after. My fingers are hurting from scrubbing. This is about as good as I can do at the moment.

I went for a drive out to the You Yang National park and a drive through some backroads around there. The 3MPS is still faster with 1 extra person in it unfortunately.
