Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I would have thought the T4 Transporter & the Polo were the same system. Looks are obviously deceiving.

I fitted an interior rollup blind to the parcel shelf. Now those idiots driving behind me with their driving/fog lights on won't trouble me so much.

Forgot about this thread - I painted the rear tow hook black this arvo, so doesn't stand out anymore

Had a look at running the power cable for an amplifier but I can't stay in the sun for more than a minute with this sunburn

Went for a run up to Bribie Island today. First time I've taken it out of town since I got back from NZ on the 7th.

All I can say is ... that Jimmymac is worth his weight in gold. Never, in nearly 2 years since I bought her, has my lil Pogo gone so well, felt so balanced and returned such good mileage. Cheers & Beers, Jimmy. I owe ya, Mate.

            New shoes!

Thought I'd treat the l'il Pog to a new set of shoes -- these are some BBS RWIIs 17x7.5 I bought on eBay, which have been reconditioned, polished and centre painted a deep anthracite, wearing Bridgestone Adrenalins in 205/40. I was worried the tyres would look 'stretched' on the 7.5" rims, and thought I might need to think about 215s, but I reckon it's all good

get better springs, eg koni, eibach, and the height will be just right (and make the wheels/car look much more stealthy).

Timbo is your car lowered at all? because even as it is, it sits nicely

I washed mine today. First time since I bought it.

                        Brushless wash = crap

I had to do the entire car twice with a chamois just to make it look cleaner than when I started. Oh well, looks sexy for now. Except the wheels, I couldn't be bothered cleaning the 20 spokes properly this time.

I cut out the restriction in the air intake trumpet on readiness for my SEAT cold air intake trunk and K&N filter...Also cleaned out and vacuumed the inside of the car and gave the interior plastics a good wipe over.
