Must have been the weekend for slack VW owners to clean their cars.
Mine received it's 2nd comprehensive clean in 6 months of ownership.
I did the bucket thing (easier than expected) but used the hose for a final wash off (forgive me Anna Bligh!!!!!)
Depressing to find lots of little stone chips and areas of tree sap & flying fox s**t damaged paint work.
Then I remembered that no-one else looks at the paint work from 5cm's and I still have my health and it's a car
I forgot the wheels are actually silver and that it really is a nice looking vehicle underneath the grunge.

No...stock springs but Koni adjustable shocks. I've thought about Eibach or Koni springs, but having driven cars with these, there's no handling improvement (IMO) relative to the benefit you get from better damping. The GTI springs are already lower.Originally posted by mitch_gti View PostTimbo is your car lowered at all? because even as it is, it sits nicely
For some reason -- probably the offset -- these wheels and tyres seem to 'fill out' the guards better than my old 17"s with the same tyres

I was worried the tyres would look 'stretched' on the 7.5" rims, and thought I might need to think about 215s, but I reckon it's all good

You put the centre caps in upside down.

Bugger! That means I'll have to take the wheels off, the tyres off the wheels, turn the centre cap around, put the tyres back on, balance them again....Originally posted by MACCAA View PostYou put the centre caps in upside down.

With the extra width and wider offset, these make the car feel noticeably more planted. Only problem is they're almost 1kg per wheel heavier than my other 17's. Ah well...use these on the road, and the old ones on the track...sell my stockies (anyone interested?)2015 White German SUV

Took my car to Coolendel Nature Reserve over the weekend, and my poor GTI had to endure 11km of unpaved roads. TWICE!!
This is the result:

After an hour of cleaning, it's gotten back its shine somewhat:

Lessons learnt n: - Always find out beforehand whether there are any unpaved roads before setting off in my GTI..sigpic

Installed Seat intake and BMC panel filter. Very happy with the top end gains.
Installed boost gauge with fancy blue lit digital readout to match blue dash lights.
After i installed the boost gauge i went for a drive and noticed a max reading of 18psi, though usually pulling up to about 15-16psi and holding it all the way to 6,000rpm. Seemed a bit more than what i had actually expected.
