When installing the TIP, prepare to say words that you didn't know were part of your vocabulary!!
"If can't get behind your troops, feel free to stand in front of them..."

Thanks mike/blitzen, i didn't expect anything less, from what i've read here, it's gonna be a challege, but fortunitely i have all you experts here who can help and there are some step by step post here. I'll need to buy all the clamps first.
by the way, i've installed the Seat Sports front strut brace today, it's not as straight forward as i thought, i had to force it in, as the piece of plastic on top (where the air vents are) is in the way, not sure if it would cause any problems further down the track, the plastic may crack.
It sure does look good though and the Pog handles great
I then removed the engine cover, strut brace, and air intake box...While I was at it, I gave my K&N filter a good clean.
I disconnected all the ancillaries off the stock TIP, then pulled the top part out.
Then remove the allen head screw(5mm)that holds the lower metal part of the TIP on the Turbo. This is on the right side of the TIP. this will loosen the Tip so you can pull it out of the Turbo.
Also Remove the allen head bolt that holds the heater coolant line. This will allow you to fully remove the old TIP, and give you more room when you install the new one.
Old and new TIP's...
The lot goes back together in the reverse of how it came apart. Remember to put some soapy water on the inside edge of the turbo flange on the TIP...This helps the TIP slide onto the Turbo.
The TIP really needs to be persuaded. I begged with it, asked it politely, offered it drinks, then threatened violence on it before I could get it to fit, but I got it!!
The rest goes together easily, but I couldn't get my engine cover to go back on.

Thank you very much Blitzen, i saw this post before and i planned to refer to it when i do my, now that you've posted it here, save me having to find the original post again
Hope the weather's good tomorrow, so i have give it a crack.
Re: the strut brace, I really should have got the Forge strut brace, as it's prefect fit, too bad "awesome gti" in UK wouldn't order it from Forge for me as they said the Forge strut brace has problems and had many compliants from customer, and recommended me the SEAT sports one. Do you have any problem with yours?

No worries man.
Never had a problem with my Forge Strut Brace. Order direct from Forge, cuts out middle man mark up, and any delivery dramas(they deliver to Aust)...I have never heard of any problems with the Strut Brace. I have however had problems with 'Awesome GTI', as they said the would not deliver to Australia (I rang them up, was told no dice, still no solution...Their problem was ECS's gain).

My Forge brace needed a little coercion to fit over the suspension towers, but overall was ok. Good results!
Another not happy Awesome GTI customer. I ordered my suspension in September and I'm still waiting on a component that was originally broken in transit. Whilst they have been good in getting the replacement part sent wihtout any cost to me, everything with them seems to take an awful long time.
Communication from them is pretty poor over all (expect to wait a few days for a response to anything).

So well, too late for me now, anyway, originally i was going to get it directly from Forge, but went with Awesome GTI becoz they get all Forge product with a 15% discount, and the shipping cost is lower.
It took over a month for me to get the stuff tho, slow shipping, i guess you get what you paid for (referring to the lower shipping cost).
On a seperate note: i have a red Forge TIP which i would try to install shortly, if weather allows today, but i got the black Forge intercooler/throttle hose (i wanted Red to match the TIP and struct brace, but Awesome GTI said Forge can't get them till mid Dec at the earliest) so i settled with black, didn't want to delay shipping for the rest of the stuff.
I want to sell the black Forge intercooler/throttle Hose (Black Forge Intercooler-Throttle hose only, not selling the TIP), PM me if anyone is interested.
(not sure where to post this, let me know if i shouldn't post it here, and i will move this )
