Sold my Polo GTI today. Kinda sorry to see it go as it's been a great (and quick!) little car. I'm getting too old for hot hatches lol, so I've gone for luxury and 4 doors (kiddies growing up fast).
Anyhow, nice to have met you all. I'll look back on my little car with fondness!
Cheers,
Mark

How much difference does the FSB make over just the rear one?
Oh any bigger pic of your car
I want to go coilovers but wanting to see if the H&R's are low enough, most people say they are pretty low with the H&R'sMODS- TOO MANY

The weight distribution keeps the car flatter, all the tyres talk rather than just the outside front one.

I took my Polo in to get the wheels balanced on Monday. It had a vibration at around 100kph that seemed to phase in and out. They told me that the front wheel was buckled and put it on the right rear.
I drove out the driveway and I noticed that the EPC light was on. The car appeared to be running perfectly so I drove home and about 6 k's down the road the ESP and ABS warning lights came on.
I checked it with the Vag checcker after a quick chat with Jimmy Mac who suggested the brake light switch. Jimmy was spot on and the fault code came up faulty brake light switch. I cleared the codes and drove it around the block. All good. I ordered a new switch and I got in the car today to drive down to Maroochydore to pick it up. Before I got to the main road both ESP and ABS warning lights were on again. Bummer.
When I was down at Cricks one of the mechanics that I know (Jamie) walked past and I casually asked him if a buckled wheel could upset the sensor because I had done another Vagcheck and it came up with faulty right rear wheel speed sensor. He popped out to the car and was quickly back in with the cause. The wire that goes from the sensor up to the main harness has 2 clips that hold it to the beam. The wire had become dislodged from the clips and had been rubbing against the inside of the tyre and had worn through to expose the wires.
$90.00 for a new connecting wire! And they won't have one until Friday. Anyway Jamie left it unclipped as before I knew of this I had already booked it in for Tyrepower to look at again tomorrow because if anything the wobble was worse than before I took it in. He did lift it away from the tyre though. So I get in to drive home and no warning lights! When Jamie changed the direction of the wire it must have made a suitable contact. Anyway half way home the tyre pressure warning light (which operates off the same wire) came on.
Sorry for the ramble but I am a little disappointed that a $20.00 wheel balance has caused me so much grief. I know it is not going to be easy to get Tyrepower to admit any liablility particularly as currently there aren't any warning lights showing. (I reset the tyre pressure and it has stayed off so far)
On a much lighter note I drove Mikepologti's Polo last Saturday and woohoo it was great. Nice one Mike.2001 Bora 4 Motion Sport now used by number two son

Here are a few more larger pics
Front
Rear
I do like the height, I reckon it's just right for me, although i know some may like it lower.
Just one more thing tho, i have tested the ride over a few corners today and through a round-about, it's too bouncy for my liking (this makes me wanna upgrade the shocks/struts even more), also i can feel the control arm touching the shaft on the front right when going over humps and bumpy road (which i know a drop link will/may fix).Last edited by ef9; 17-12-2009, 12:32 AM.Black|APR Tuned|APR Dogbone|SEAT Intake|BMC Airfilter|Forge TIP|SEATSports Front Strutbrace|Forge Rear Strutbrace|Whiteline RSB|Bilstein B8 & H&R Springs

Will be interested to see how yours goes over the next few months!
It did rattle more since i put in the dogbone insert tho.
if budget permits, i would rather get the shocks and springs done at the same time, rather than doing it individualy paying labor cost twice. I dont really like the H&R and stock shocks combination so far, well, it's been a couple of days, i will get use to it i guess.Black|APR Tuned|APR Dogbone|SEAT Intake|BMC Airfilter|Forge TIP|SEATSports Front Strutbrace|Forge Rear Strutbrace|Whiteline RSB|Bilstein B8 & H&R Springs

Although my coilovers / FSB are now producing noises of their own, the interior is quieter.
