Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Thanks mate. Will need to reconfirm with Forge/Rennenhaus, as the one on ebay looks exactly the same as the one that Forge says won't fit the 9N.

    How hard was it to fit?

    • Are these easy to fit?

                    • Yeah, had a look at some alternate cars, nothing bit me so I thought I'd have a go at softening the suspension for my lame daily drive roads...

                      Bought a few extra bits to accompany the new gear, nothing special, just worth having a backup / doing a refresh of anything worn...

                        • Just did some weighing of some of the parts removed:

                          Rear Seats: -30kg
                          Seat Belts and rear trim: -10kg
                          Spare tyre: -16kg
                          ...Tool kit: -5KG
                          Semi Slicks and new rims: +8kg

                          Not bad for a start, next stage towards the end of the year perhaps will be, roof lining and excess air bags once the cage goes in.

                          Forgot that my EGT and boost gauges from New South Performance have turned up, ordered them off Avenue Motorsport in the states, turned up 4 or 5 days later. Awesome service minus Australia Post trying to deliver them to number 8 instead of number 6.

                          • To those running KW's;

                            Do you have the height adjuster in on the rear or are the springs sitting on the rear KW seats (or even in the stock spring beds).

                            • i left the adjusters out on my car and i think it sit just right, for the rear.
