Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Man I tried fitting my dash cubby today that I got from eGay and it doesn't fit anywhere near as good as yours does
It doesn't sit completely flush in the dash and so it doesn't pop open properly, its like it's rubbing somewhere. Did you have any trouble at all?

                    • How much was it and where was it shipped from? I saw a a few on Vaglink for about $55US. So tempted in getting that and the honeycomb bottom grills.

                      • I got the dash cubby from Vaglink. From order date till arrival in South Africa took 5 days. They still have free shipping till end of the month.

I also had a bit of trouble the first time i tried fitting it so i took it out again and set the rear in first then the front. Managed to get it alligned nicely.

Oh, almost forgot one thing. Finished up the Joey Mod on the headlights a few weeks ago.

                        Came out great IMHO!

                          • Ahh thanks I'll give it another go. I was fitting the front in first each time and it was almost sitting too low at the back.

                            EDIT: Nope, still no good.
That's what I get for being impatient and not waiting for Dubaddiction to get them back in!

                              • Redline Gearbox oil and engine treatment went in (thanks to my mechanic for assisting with the required tools).

Gearbox feels a little smother already, have to wait for a few more kms for a real verdict.
