I am a newbie to this stuff but I have tried to follow the instructions and I don't see exactly the screens as provided. I don't have OBD2. I know it's boring but I have tried to find a clear explanation but have come up short. Is there anyone who could provide some screen shots of the process using the latest version. I have a 7.5R.
It can be done on a 7.5 R (I've done it). Will get you some screen shots for the current VCDS software when I get a chance (probably tomorrow).

      • So I tried to code the 4 brake light mode on my 7.5 R and it accepts the adaptation changes but doesn't work. Doesn't break anything either.

I'd also like to find the adaptation for lowering the speed at which the high beam automatically comes on. 60km is too fast for dark residential streets.

the standard (not dynamic)7.5 rear LED lights do not have any lights on the boot clusters for the brake lights (the near side does have a partial one but that’s a fog light)

Aren't the R tails dynamic? I have that cool "sweeping" turn signal.

iant: If you are using a HEX+CAN cable (the older product), the "normal" long coding helper screen for Byte 23 on the 5F module looks like this:

Or, if you are using one of the HEX- V2/NET cable/dongles, the "yellow" long coding helper screen looks like this:

regardless of which screen you access - simply set the value of Byte 23 to hex00 (or Binary 00000000)

                Don

PS: If you are using a HEX+CAN cable on your mk7.5, I suggest that you upgrade to a HEX-V2/NET series devices. There are modules in this model that use the new OBD 2.0B protocols (29 Bit addressing) that the older cable can't read

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the wider expertise of other forum members! Thank you.

                  • Thanks for helping, however I feel like a lame novice here. I have a HEX-V2 (Firmware 18.1) I have tried many screens but I can't find the screen as illustrated. Sorry to bother you all again, but please would it be possible for you to briefly outline the menus and steps to take to get to these screens. I've tried and failed.

iant: Not a problem - we have ALL been there at some stage in our VCDS learning-curve!!

Here's a pictorial instruction that I hope is self explanatory. Please ask questions if further help is needed

Note the numbered steps in the last screen - follow the numbers

                      • Is it possible to enable static AFS lights for coming/leaving home on a MK7.5? Saw that somewhere for MK7.

Also is it possible to enable both main beam and fog lights?

                        • New with OBD11, I have successfully codified almost everything, I have read all the pages of this forum and others, and as many I would like to thank the collaboration of DV52 and others that their contributions are remarkable.

I wonder if someone could disable the legend of care when reversing. I read it in another site but it does not accept the access code, it's obviously wrong because it's out of range.

tapachula: hi . I have not seen your tweak instruction before. I've also not seen 71679 used as a security code in the ABS module @ address hex03.

I have started a list of security codes HERE which you are welcome to try on your tweak instructions.

Please be aware that control modules will lock-out if you enter the wrong security code. If this happens, the lock-out time can be upward of 20 minutes and the time is measured with the ignition switched-on

Please provide feedback if your tweak instructions are successful

                            Don
