  • its definitely the alarm siren beeping and not the horn when you activate the lock/unlock acoustic acknowledgment?

    • Since I don't have alarm I'm sure it's the horn on my car

      • Another question:
DSG7 as I have in my 2016 Golf Estate 1.4 tsi.
When you are in manual mode you can up shift or down shift with buttons on the steering wheel or on the gear leaver.
I can understand that gearbox automatically downshifts for you even in manual mode to prevent the stalling if you forget to downshift yourself.
        So far so good.
But is it possible to delete the "kick down" function via vcds?
if I have the gearbox in manual, I want to deside when to shift down when I am accelerating.
if you press hard on the accelerator pedal the gearbox shifts down one or two gears depending on engine rpm but I want to delete that function.
        is it possible?

There is a safety element to this. Generally when you have the car in manual mode and you mesh the accelerator peddle in the complete wrong gear, the car thinks you are in a panic mode to accelerate away from danger (train lines, intersection etc). Therefor, it kicks down into the right gear (in relation to your throttle position) to get you moving.

Not to mention if it's dropping two cogs, you are probably lugging the engine, which is bad.

            • Thank you agentthumb for your answer.
i can understand the safety regarding this but I would still like to remove that feature when I am in manual mode.
the 1.4 tsi is a lovely little engine and has a lot of tourque from around 1500 to about 4000 rpm.
the turbo on these engines are really small, and I mean really really small so it will not provide much boost over 4k. Therefore I don't want the gearbox to downshift so that the rpm goes to 4500-5000 like it does know.
I hope I can make myself understood, it's been a while since I studied English in school

                • Hi, I've followed the below instructions (2016 Golf R), and I'm able to get the indicator and DRLs to blink alternately, however only when the headlights are on, or in 'auto' with headlights on (but not in 'auto' when headlights are off).

Any suggestions on how I would get this to work while headlights are off?

                  TIA

Daniel: Hello. Now that's a very interesting set of "Leuchte" programming instructions indeed!! Where did you get them?

                    Try this:
                    1. Restore the original values of "C5" and "C4"
                    2. Change the following:
Adaptation channel Old Setting New Setting
                    (12)-Leuchte4TFL LB4-Lichtfunktion E 4 not active Blinken Links Dunkelphase
                    (15)-Leuchte4TFL LB4-Dimming Direction EF 4 maximize minimize
(12)-Leuchte5 TFL RB32-Lichtfunktion E 5 not active Blinken Rechts Dunkelphase
(15)-Leuchte5 TFL RB32-Dimming Direction EF 5 maximize minimize

so upon braking the red led at the indicator does light up, but otherwise it doesn't.

                          Thanks for replying Don!

I've followed your table and have found that in 'dunkelphase' the drls and indicator flash in unison, so I've changed to 'hellphase' and now have the desired alternating effect. This is working irrespective of the light switch setting (auto, park lights, headlights, off).

Perfect! Exactly what I was after. Thanks!

I'd be very keen to learn how to accomplish this indicator pulse, rather than the 'pace car' mod I have at the moment: https://youtu.be/DCn_YiJDrOo

                            Any suggestions on coding?

                              Hi Daniel,

Unfortunately, it cannot be achieved with stock tail lights. You need aftermarket ones for that.

I believe the ones you see in the video are those ones :

It can be achieved with this harness apparently. Cool stuff
