Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Welcome mate. Side grills pop out, center section can be a pain. Can cut it out as no need to go back and not really worth anything.

    • Welcome aboard - you're off to a flying start!

We really need to get this Melbourne Polo (all models) group going. There's a Vic cruise coming up, early next month, where we may be able to get things organised. Interested in joining in?

      • Most likely yes. After I get these minor things changed over, next up on my cards is a new headunit (hence having the single din slot ready) and whilst I have that removed, hopefully look into running a usb/power cable from the 12V upto the dash cubby, to provide power directly to my GPS, as I quickly found that the cigarette lighter one is getting in the way of 5th gear...

After that, get used to the current power and feel of the car, and then investigate a tune and Seat intake and BMC filter. If I can track down an intake that is.

        • Welcome Warfuric. Never heard of the TT pedal swap. What's the go? Better looking pedals?

Vaglink and a credit card. I added it to the cart without thinking about it... Hopefully it works out for the best.

            • I believe it's just the pedal covers (rubber bits with decorative metal inserts) that are changed. They just slip on/off.

Thats what I came to the conclusion of last night after unwrapping them and a lot of googling. I guess I'll know in a few days wether it was a smart idea or not...

Wow that's low. Also, does that 49 mean that u made 1049km on that last tank? Lol

                      • I'm particularly impressed by the very low idle speed.
I strongly suspect that's the reason the check engine light is on. (Low oil pressure/voltage.)

nah - I played with trip meter to remind myself how to reset it.
The 3.9 was the average consumption (l/100km) so far on that trip, though.

The car is less than a year on road, guys!
