Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

took it for a good run last night and the manifold was stone cold the red of the motor was way way to hot to touch and the fuel rail stays stone cold now to that use to get way to hot to touch and the car runs smoother now feels like it comes on boost faster and theres alot more power in the mid to high i was losen boost from the old injector seals they was f**ked lol

sure is mate have it set up from the boost pipe in to the mbc then in to the n75 i got it set to 0 just slows the air down to the n75 valve and makes boost come on alittle faster and holds alot smoother with out it my car would surge like crazy and boost spike over 20psi then drop down to 10 psi now with it on it boosts to 17psi and holds it smooth

                          • Noticed the PoD got a very loud air leaking noise on the highway the other day
It just appeared out of nowhere and after some testing it seems to be boost related

After looking from under I found this

Looks like the driveshaft is rubbing against the silicon turbo hose
Took it out to have a good look and looks like it been through some serious rubbing

Plus there was already a not very loud air leak since I took the pipework apart to solve some chafing issues on the MAP sensor
So I end up buying the pipework kit from the Darkside guys
Took only 4 days including weekend to arrive from the UK that was quick!

Will have to wait for the weather to cool down a bit before I get my hands dirty
                            Report back soon

                            • Installed the back two of Eddy's eccentric bolts for the subframe. First one went in with a slight ream, no worries 45 mins done. I'll get all four done today no worries I thought. Driver side - not so much. Best part of three hours to get it reamed all the way through and the subframe undone all round so I could get the bolt lined up. The worst case of right leg sunburn going and lucky to make kids pickup in time! but happy they are in. Two to go and then a proper alignment.

                              • Yesterday, with Gavin's help (i.e. he did most of the work!), installed new poly bushes front and rear on my lower control arms.. Along with 4 new tyres from the other day, the car is driving beautifully. Very happy with the result!
