Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

        • Wow, this is probably the most my wife and I have put on any car. Our previous car we averaged about 6 to 8k kms per year!

Skyline sees about 3 to 4k a year on average, past 2x years he has done about 1k kms lol.

Yeah we both train it to work, she drives to work perhaps twice a week?

I wonder if you can fit proper mechanical diffs into Tiguans, would make coming off the mark amazing.

When I went from the rubbish viscous LSD to a proper 2-way KAAZ unit in the R33, it was hooking up 372kW with ease!

I drive 120km each week to and from work, work 1 day at home.

My MK6 R had just over 100,000km after 6 years, most of that was when I worked alot closer to home.

                • Random, but relevant.

If anyone needs Turbosmart products your Tiguan, I'm able to assist.

I used to be part of trak-life selling parts but have stepped away to do my own thing. Just waiting on business name and ABN registration to be finalised however in the mean time can help with any Turbosmart or Elig or Intima products.

Good to know. Are you opening up your own car tuning business full time?

Maybe Tig can be the next project car?

Looked into the software and licensing for VAG and it's not worth it for the amount I do. Probably more viable to just reflash with off the shelf tunes such as Revo and hire out dynos for data.

Also not full time, car tuning and parts sale has always been a side hustle/hobby (I'm in IT, but currently not working due to a recent redundancy).

Anyhow, PM me of you want to chat

I haven't had a lot to say and been travelling for work so been pretty busy.

I've ordered the Auto-tech HPFP tool so this is getting shipped and then have to arrange to get the fuel pump installed when it arrives. Hopefully this fits/works with the VIS HPFP. Also have to book in with the workshop when they have a clear day to do the tuning. At this stage it's looking like it may be around the 14th May.

                            • Well the tool arrived and will be getting the fuel pump installed later next week.

                              Then tuning...

                              • And it was the wrong tool - or right tool but wrong fuel pump upgrade kit.

Looks like it may be a few more weeks of waiting yet....

On the brighter side the turbo is getting a good run-in period
