Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

What did you do to your Polo today?

Finally received my Bilstein B8 from Orangetuning, got my mechanic to install it for me this weekend.
I was running the H&R springs with stock shocks, which was too bouncy and weird. Now H&R springs with Bilstein B8 feels better, abit hash but firm, just like it should as a sports setupBlack|APR Tuned|APR Dogbone|SEAT Intake|BMC Airfilter|Forge TIP|SEATSports Front Strutbrace|Forge Rear Strutbrace|Whiteline RSB|Bilstein B8 & H&R Springs

Ordered an alloy foot rest from the UK and it arrived today ... finally makes it look "complete". Cost about A$32 with shipping
Need to post a pic but the camera battery is flat at the moment
Here's the link on EBay it has some pics so you get the idea.

Just went for a run up the Gillies Hwy for the last time... One of the best driving roads in North Qld... Unless you get stuck behind a slow 4wd... Now in Atherton, and about to head down through Kuranda to Cairns, then Townsville. A last hurrah before I move south."If can't get behind your troops, feel free to stand in front of them..."

It wasn't today, but it's the first chance I've had to grab a pic...
K04 bit the dust at Wakefield a few weeks ago and put the Polo into 007-spec smokescreen mode - quite spectacular in an RAAF Roulettes kind of way and the first time I've used a vehicle fire extinguisher in anger to put out the oil burning in the exhaust.

For a bit of background, this turbo bit the dust after the Polo was bounced off the limiter in 3rd down the straight at Wakefield by a first-timer. The general consensus from those far more mechanically minded than myself is that after the ECU cut the spark at the hard limit some unburned fuel made it into the turbo and ignited, thus damaging the vanes and causing the subsequent issues. I'm sure the tacho would have been on or above the redline for 5-10 seconds before the failure occurred.
New K04 from the same supplier is already fitted to the engine awaiting testing once it all goes back together - I resisted the urge to whack on something bigger again but did take the 'whilst it's apart' approach to some gearbox & driveline mods.

Fair enough, i dont have anything against APR what so ever, happy to get the part # off you tmr as early as possible if i can.
The part number will ultimately, be my reason to purchase 1 or not 2nd hand.
with regard to the part number, i just want the one off the actual 'Tag'
Thanks

Do you mind sending me the brand and part number for the KO4 too? I've been wanting to do this upgrade for yonks and just want to ensure everything's 100% before I bite the dust and go ahead. Pretty sure its a Borg Warner but not sure if there's more to the story. Thanks in advance.

APR sell the Borg Warner K04-001, not a part number, but that's the bolt on, straight swap over version.
Occasionally there are some K04's on oz Audi forum.
Keep us posted on what you find, have not seen them under $1k landed new...
Personally, I don't think a used K04 is a good option unless you know it's history, but there are guys who can check them.
