• Is there a way to keep the reverse camera on when flicking from reverse to drive? My Kodiaq keeps the cameras on till around 15kph, which I've found to be nice when doing multiple-point manoeuvres.

• Anyone know how to get the ignition push start to pulse like a heartbeat? Some SEAT models do this and I've seen videos of people coding this to their VW models but not sharing the code.

Doesn't work for me on my Mk7R - is this a Mk7.5 thing?

Try setting this adaptation to enabled in 5F infotainment:

I've done that and restarted the infotainment system and it doesn't work. The message bus is set to Databus Infotainment - is that the correct setting?

zac: Hi.

No, I don't believe that it's a "mk7.5 thing" albeit if the hex05 module in your mk7R doesn't have the adaptation channels in my instructions below - that might be the problem!

Try this:

Ignition ON/OFF button (KESSY): activate heart-beat pulse
1. Go to the KESSY module Acc/Start Auth. @ address hex05
2. Select Security Access
3. Enter the magic number 20103
4. Select Adaptation
5. Change the channels below to activated

6. Exit VCDS - the button starts it's heat-beat pulse immediately after the changes are made

Yes infotainment is the correct bus.
Works in my Discover Media with 7N0 highline RVC module by just changing that one adaptation channel.
Haven't actually tested it in an MQB car, though I don't think it would make any difference....hopefully someone with a more suitable car can assist.

kamold: I think one of us (might be me) has misunderstood zac's question. My reading is that zac was inquiring about the "heat-beat pulse" tweak. I could be wrong (as I have said), but if not - the instructions that I posted have been confirmed as working over on the vortex site (for a mk7) and it also works on my MQB Audi.

interesting......
might try this on my Suberb, although it won't b much good given the engine start-stop button in the on the steering wheel column itself.

nonetheless, give it a crack i shall

Hi Don, thanks for the quick reply. I've got the two channels activated, however the tweak still isn't working.

I was inquiring about both the start/stop pulsing tweak and the RVC tweak. Apologies for the confusion.

• ^^^^^ zac: hmm....... odd because as I have said, the tweak instructions has been confirmed.

Can you post-up an admap of the hex05 module -please? I'll compare your other settings with those in my Audi module ( and don't forget to use the
tag at the beginning and
tag at the end of the pasted data)

Don

EDIT: just a thought to confirm that you are aware that the heart-beat effect only pulses when the door is unlocked and the engine is not turned-on, and after the engine is switched-off and the interior lights are still illuminated? Whilst the engine is running, the button illumination is a steady red-colour.

The worksheet compares the 2 x modules at adaptation channel level. I've sorted the data so that those adaptation channels with different settings are listed first (i.e. the entries in the "Same?" column are "No").

As you can see, the stats look like this:
Total channel count = 151
Number of channels in DV module without matching channels in Zac module = 17
Number of channels in Zac module without matching channels in DV module =0
Number of channels with different settings (excl no matching channels)= 7

nothing jumps out as being obviously responsible - but you might be able to find cause where I can not.

I did the start button tweak to my mate's 7.5R and it worked.

By the way, how do I enable DLA on his car? I followed this: Activate Dynamic Light Assist (DLA) - from MY 2017 - AS.Coding but couldn't get it working. Got Light Assist error and AFS error, so rolled back to just Light Assist.
