I do. I posted it around here somewhere.

On mine there is no LED on one side and on the other it’s a fog light, plus there’s a big gap in between so doesn’t look right

Oh, unfortunately the dynamic LED tail coding is different from the standard tails.

What do you mean by the above?

According to the link, the following should work:

            Go to:

            - A9 Struct. Borne Sound
            - Adapation 10
            - Select "channel of structure borne sound " (only choice)
            - Std value 100% - change to the value you want stored in % (60% has been suggested as a good happy medium, adjust to 0% if you want no noise/mini vibrations).
            - "Use change code for change approval"

However, the VCDS doesn't have - A9 Struct. Borne Sound for some reason :s

I've yet to implement the tweak on the Golf R, but I'm reasonably confident that the instructions will work - if anyone tries it before I get access to the Golf R, please provide feedback

VCDS Tweak - Add "brake" function to "inner" tail lights

Preface: The fittings that will be altered by this tweak are those that are physically installed in the hatch lid (tailgate). The picture below shows the LH fitting and I have circled the relevant LEDs for reference (note: both left and right side fittings will be altered).
As some will already know, the BCM manages lighting for the car's exterior lamps - in this instance the left and right side bank of LEDs on the inner rear fittings are each connected to the one pin on the BCM (i.e. PIN #6 on Socket C). This means that only one Leuchte-set needs to be altered (i.e. not surprisingly the Leuchte-set designated C6).

For the Leuchte-geeks, the two inner LED fittings are factory programmed to perform only one function; that being as a parking light with the illumination level set to a value of 10. To add the brake function, it is necessary to move the parking light function to the CD alpha pair thus allowing the vacated AB alpha pair to be used as a brake light. This gives the Brake-parking light combination the correct priority in instances where both functions are operated together

              Instructions
              1. Select 09 - Central Electr control module
              2. Select Security Access - 16 from the "Open Controller" screen
              3. Enter the magic number 31347 and return to the "Open Controller" screen
              4. Select Adaptation - 10 from the "Open Controller" screen
              5. Change the four Leuchte channels depicted in the table below to the values in the New Settings column.

Suggestion: use the "search" facility on the latest RT software to find the channels listed below as follows:
Enter LRC6 into the search box to find the inner LED tail-light channels

              Notes:
              1. Four adaptation channel settings need to be changed as per the table above, but I have included the complete Leuchte-set for reference and for checking the suitability of the tweak on your car
              2. Do not implement these instructions if the Old Setting values are not the same as shown in the table
Does this mod work on the GTi Performance with rear LEDs or only the R?

              thanks in advance

On 7.5 with dynamic turn signal you code them like on 7 with non-led lamps.

                  Works for me.

                  • these don’t have LED strips in the hatch lamp on the nearside, and on the offside it’s the fog and it’s set further in so leaves a gap

                    • Hey guys,

I used to run laps around the old Mk5 Golf set up, but I can't seem to understand the Mk7 layout.

Everyone seems to be talking about the channels being really easy to navigate to but on my Golf, it's all in German and with very long, convoluted titles. Am I doing something wrong?

                      Thanks

                      • ^^^ Maca: you aren't doing anything wrong - the names for individual adaptation channels on VW control modules can be entirely English, entirely German and a mix of both! It really all depends on which module is in the car and what version firmware in installed in the module.

Just as starting advice (seeing that you are new to VCDS), if you look carefully at the names, you will see a pattern in the naming convention that the Ross-Tech reports. Here's an example from your picture

                        IDE02269-MAS04382-Acknowledgement signals-Optical feedback during locking

Notice the structure of the naming convention: it is like the naming convention of a relational database in that there is often (but not always) a "Parent" part and a "Child" part. So in the channel above, the relational database elements look like this :

Parent Tag Number - Child Tag number- Parent descriptor - Child descriptor

The elements of the naming convention are separated by "-". If you look at the remaining adaptation channels in your picture related to "Acknowledgement signals", you will see that they ALL have the same Parent Tag number (i.e. IDE02269)

So, if you recognize that lots of adaptation channels are related, it helps simplify the search for the correct channel

But, yes - it does help to have a German Translator App open when scrolling through the list of adapatiopn channels.

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the wider expertise of other forum members! Thank you.

                        • only the 7.5 R has dynamic turn signal, so it will not work for any other 7.5

                            • I feel like an absolute noob with this. I managed to activate the alarm chirp on lock and the DRL control in the vehicle settings, but I can’t seem to deactivate the DRL wink when the turn signals activate.
