The VW wait issue is starting to get more press.. I responded to the surveys they sent and ripped into the wait period.. my gripe was the lack of recognition for those that chose to do so

I get my my new GTI in 7 days. Purchased from ACT, I'm flying from Melbourne to Canberra on Friday to drive my new baby home. Should be a fun drive home

We're keeping the RS. Great family car. In another 12 months we will probably upgrade to the Suberb. So happy with the Skoda, so GTI should be alot of fun. Wife gets the Skoda, except on Karting weekends when I need to tow the trailer. Works out well.

Its a question of managing expectations if you ask me matey. My dealer and the people I deal with there were always very transparent about the amount of time it would take to get one in. 'You can order one for sure, but you're looking at a nine month wait at the moment' they said, so not as if they said, yeah mate 8 weeks. I could have got one sooner but I wanted my options and spec and lets be honest it cost less doing it that way too.

Its actually arriving a couple of months sooner then they said it would and they have ben communicative and friendly the whole way. I've purchased from them before and I would do so again.

So true I'm currently getting the bus and saving at the moment as I had to give my old car back to my old company but I know exactly where the car is and bar any mishaps know when it will be delivered....

I do feel for those you have been given false information, but that's a world away from my experience.

Supply and demand my friends, supply and demand. You need to remember we have all chosen to live in the 'arse end of nowhere'.....

New GTI Picked up today

Just picked up my 5 door GTI with 18" detroits, everything else stock. Originally wanted the carbon colour but none available till next month and needed before end of June. Settled with white, looks fantastic! Surprising power even after driving a supercharged commy for the last 2 years. Will wait a few weeks before giving it some hell

I had exactly the same scenario, wanted carbon steel but the wait was so long I settled on a white GTI. You're right, it does look great.

Candy white was my first colour of choice. I think it looks great, especially with a good dark tint. Plus, my R32 was black and that was so damn hot in the warmer weather. That had leather also and consequently why I went with cloth in the GTI. Leather is great with heated seats in winter but in summer, not comfortable.

Supercharged commodore isn't much to write home about, what were they? 190kw in a 2tonne car? Maybe not that heavy, but u get my drift

yeah you're right, they take a couple of secs to wind up and at high revs are completely useless. Too heavy & too thirsty.

Got my GTI today, made the order last week so only waited for ONE week.

It's Red 5dr with 18" detroits and tinted, and everything else is stock and that's probably why I can get it so quick! The car is built on April and landed in Aus on June. Been drive it whole day, just simply love it.
