Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I got mine last week but finally got the time today to get properly acquainted with my R. I went for a 400km spin up through the Dandenong ranges to help break the engine in. For anyone in the Melbourne area who is looking for a place to take your car for your first date could I suggest the piece of bitumen between Marysville and Warburton via Cambarville. Oh, and ACC is definitely worth it.
+1 on it being worth the 5-9 month wait! I have a permanent grin not even the budget can get rid of.Last edited by alexkid; 17-05-2011, 11:43 PM.

Came on the Manon just before Easter. Took this long due to 5 days lost for easter long weekend and as it was a dealer swap, it spent some time in Melbourne getting all the compliance work done prior to getting shipped to Brisbane, then GC.
Took a long time but finally here!Current ride: 2014 Range Rover Evoque 5 Door TD4 Pure | 9 Spd Auto | Fuji White | Black Leather | 19 inch 'Dynamic' Wheels

I originally ordered a Carbon Steel, 3 dr GTi, 18" Detroits but couldn't handle the 4-6 month wait so I've asked the dealer today what else he has available that's in the country. Have now changed to a White GTi, 5 dr, Manual, 18" Detroits, MDI, Bluetooth. Hopefully I'll get that one in the next month, similar story to Finance_Analyst, I think it's a dealer swap.BMW Z4 (2019)

I have noted earlier this week that Australs and Norris have like 8 GTIs each on the floor at present (although most are either 3drs and 2010 builds). I went 2011 build as there was no price difference in the end with my Corporate Plus discount, so it was a no brainer. These dealers have kept these in the woodwork me thinks and have just 'dumped' them now.....Current ride: 2014 Range Rover Evoque 5 Door TD4 Pure | 9 Spd Auto | Fuji White | Black Leather | 19 inch 'Dynamic' Wheels

I was hoping to pickup my Golf within a few weeks. Seems Austral can't find my order in the system and will get back to me. !!!! How hard is it.
edit. Once I spoke with the right person they knew exactly where to look.
Boat docked today, anywhere between 15-20 working days I think she said.Last edited by xordis; 19-05-2011, 04:46 PM.MY11.5 Golf 118TSI DSG - United Grey, Sports pack (cloth), Bluetooth, MDI

Ended up at Highway Auto Springwood, have dealt with Austral before when we bought a Jetta back in 2007 and wasn't overly impressed with their service after we purchased, they weren't really interested once they had our money.
I was offered a Golf R (instead of the carbon steel GTi) but because of the options on it they wanted an extra $20,000! I'm sure it's a great car but I couldn't justify that one.
I'm hoping that the white Golf is a 2011 model, it's all yet to be confirmed but I'm hopeful I'll have it reasonably quickly.Last edited by Scratchyratface; 19-05-2011, 06:09 PM.BMW Z4 (2019)
