Thanks Corey. The Polo has been great, but just sitting in the Golf GTI I knew I was home again and 230 klm later had confirmed it. Polo is unhappy as it has been kicked out of the garage for the first time. Wife is happy as she now has the keys to the Polo.

I went to dealer early this morning to see how close my car was, as it was unloaded from the Manon late last month. They checked the Patricks website and told me that it was in transit. Therefore, i should have it by the end of next week, sweet i thought.

Anyhow, when I was leaving and driving out through the back of the dealership saw a white GTI, with rear sensors and 18s. Could that be mine, only dropped off this morning and not updated on the computer? I stopped the car and walked over to it - front sensors, cloth, sticker with Manon - all looking good. I pulled out my phone and checked the VIN..... It was mine!!! pick up mid week. Woo Hoo!! Finally.

Part of me wishes I get for the GTD, but another $7k is $7k I don't need to spend.

Looking for a good tint place in Brisbane to match the privacy glass if anyone knows of a place that will do a good job.

As agreed I turned up to the dealership yesterday to have the premium bluetooth and mdi installed. I asked for the MDI to go into the centre console. Was assured by all and sundry that these would be exactly as per factory fit. Rocked up at 4pm to collect my car and found the blank in the glovebox punched out and a cable hanging out with the iPod MDI cable attached to it. Reaches only into the glovebox. Asked the tech how I was supposed to use my iPhone from a closed glovebox in a moving car. He says bluetooth.

Pushed the steering wheel button to operate the phone and the tech tells me that I didnt get that functionality. The kit they installed only lets me answer the phone with the button on the wheel and nothing else - no screen integration, no nothing and that THAT is the standard install for MDI and bluetooth if not factory installed.

So I did my naa-naaa in the service reception and told them I ORDERED the car with these items as factory installs. I ended up taking the tech, the spare parts person and the salesman down to the sales manager's office at the dealership. They were very apologetic and have assured me the genuine premium B/T and 'just like factory installed' MDI will be fitted to the car on May 6th.

Unbelievable...

Joyful... just picked it up from the dealership. Everything installed properly and as ordered, everything working properly and as ordered AND the car got a wash and a full tank of 98. Very happy with the response. And yes - the dealership was Paul Wakeling at Campbelltown. I recommend my salesman so PM me for his details.

I saw a UG 5dr DSG R there today - fully loaded with leather, electric seat, RNS, ACC, Sunroof, 19's, dynaudio, premiun B/T, MDI (and some other stuff I now forget) so if someone wants one now its there and still available.

Glad to hear this was all sorted GTI11.5. Paul Wakeling rarely get it wrong.
