Wow GTi11.5, not happy Jan. Not sure how you were in the dealership but that post was quite calm and restrained.

I will be totally taking the advice from VWW and going to the dealership armed with the options checklist - looks like they can't be trusted to get it right. As you said ten days in pre-delivery and they didn't check the basics.

I hope it gets properly resolved for you.

Hey GTI11.5. Hope they sort it out. I also got my car from Paul Wakeling... luckily everything was delivered as expected on my GTI Adidas. I was pretty happy the overall experience I got from Paul Wakeling. Deposit placed on the 10th Apr, picked up car on the 16th Apr! All within the same year!
damn.. our number plates are 3 digits difference!!

Not sure if the tint question was at GTI11.5 or me... tint was done by Solartint. Not sure on the % though. I picked up the car with then tint on it already from the dealer.

Thanks, ICEDIST. Yours looks great too but I was asking GTi11.5 just 'cos his pictures showed (to me) the tint better. If you got it from the dealer, probably his is the same. Do you think you could check with your dealer?

Mine was put on at the same dealer... so I will leave ICEDIST to answer that. My dealer called me today to tell me they couldnt get the parts required to rectify their f**kup until mid-May so no fixes for me till the 16th...

Hey the car I ordered look almost identical to your car GTI11.5. Mine is leather, BT, MDI, CW, DSG, detroits, Sunroof from Wakelings also. I have checked NADCON and they verify all the gear is right.... I hope it is when it gets here or I will be going off my nut too.... as far as I am concerned when you order something from factory and wait for so long to get specifically what you asked for, for so much oney you should get exactly that!

My car is currently on the Morning Carol on it's way to Australia, to be unloaded at Port Kembla, around late May 2011. I was lucky I found a car with my specs in build when I ordered.

I also like the tint you got, let us know if you work out what % you have as it looks great. I love the contrast of the white, black windows and 18" Detroits.

I asked my dealer, and he said max should be around 3 weeks. And he said he's overstating it so that I don't get disappointed.

My Golf R was discharged from the Torino at Port Kembla on 13 April, delivered to the dealers 460km away on 20 April, and was ready to be picked up on 21 April (although I can't pick it up until Wednesday as I've been out of town). I can't understand how your R can take more than 3 weeks when mine took 8 days and had to be transported 460kms from Port Kembla.
