thanks the gti and r are practically sister cars, i've always seen them in the same light. i parked at bunnings to pick up some hardware, one of the bunnings staff came out to say "hey nice car man!"

so much for being inconspicuous...

oh and btw, the rcd510 sucks balls... then again i wasn't expecting much of it, and intend to replace it with the pioneer unit sooner rather than later in more of a hurry now because my car is a my11.5 which DOESN'T have bluetooth standard!! that telephone button on the steering wheel just stares at me

that bad huh?? i didn't get to play around with it during my test drive as the unit was all in German and couldn't set it to English. lol. anyways, will play around with it when I pick up my car. be interesting to see how good/bad it is.

I'm looking at the AVIC-F9310BT. not a pretty unit, but very functional and gives me both satnav and bluetooth which are things i'm already missing! especially satnav; i took the R on some unknown roads near the dealer and i got lost

which is why i'm not big on sat navs in general. old school street directory ftw i say.

You have a good point, I should prolly learn to navigate without a digital map like the olden days... kept glancing at the air vent today since that's where my satnav usually is!

Definitely going to install myself. I've stripped a car to the shell before so I think I can manage a simple dash thingy You're welcome to watch me pull it apart if you want?

Ordered our 118TSI w/- Sports pack on Monday and took delivery today! Urban Gray, manual, front carpet mats, tinted front windows, paint protection, full size Euro Silver plates (ordered). Very happy!

Amen to that, brother. It's on the long stretch to Fremantle now. We'll have to organise a bit of a drive when our cars arrive.

I must have just got lucky with mine. I ordered mid June and will receive early November. That's with pretty much all the boxes ticked bar the motorsport seats and reverse camera (the latter of which I'm sort of regretting spending the extra on and the former I couldn't possible justify the 5k asking price)

Dunno. Maybe. The salesman buzzed off to fill the tank just as we arrived to take delivery. He told me to use either Premium or Ultra. Wife and I were just trying to figure out what happened so checked the label inside the flap. Says to use 98.

Wife took it iin first thing this morning. They put it on the computer. Couldn't find anything wrong, reset the fault, and took it for a burn. It hasn't come back.

When we picked it up yesterday afternoon around 5:30, it was raining fairly steadily so couldn't really check the exterior. I got the salesman to note on the handover checklist that I wanted to check it when dry. This afternoon with the car under cover, I gave it a good going over. The paint's fine, but I noticed the front seemed to be sitting somewhat higher than the back. Yep, the yellow transport blocks are still in the springs.. Back to the dealer tomorrow.

Ok, after have chat with my salesman, I gave up my order and change to RB from CW, swap option from dynaudio to rear cam, the car have been made and it will deliver on Jan 12 or Dec 11 depend on the boat's speed. Feels happy now coz don't want to wait untill Apr for the original order.
