  • Mark that is great news .. sounds like your order is almost exactly what i'm after although i'm going for Sunroof and Dynaudio too.

Did your dealer confirm that your xenons would have the LEDs at the front?

Can i ask what price you got?

Yes, definitely Xenons with integrated LEDs. As for price, see my PM to you.

meaning they don't have as much room on the RRP: for a stock manual gti, but can afford to on a fully optioned DSG etc
What you need to look at is the price he ended up with. $56,550
This means that basically ALL of the "discount" comes within the LCT threshold. That means that 33% of the discount is immediately just a reduction in tax. Then another 5% of that is a reduction in stamp duty (including from the 33%). So discounts on "LCT" cars look way bigger than the equiv diso**** on non-LCT cars.

Not everyone sees the value in the Dynaudio setup, but I certainly do, as do some other audiophiles on this forum. I wouldn't be without it!

General consensus seems to be you'd need to spend a whole lot more than the Dynaudio premium ($2k+ I'm guessing) to match the setup for quality.

It is definitely good value. My DynAudio system in the car, is certainly better then the dynaudio upgrades now offered. But it cost me far more than $2k so it is well worthwhile if you plan on turning on your radio or connecting your iPhone

              • Hi all,

Long time reader, just joined the forum, as I've finally decided to take the plunge and get a GTI. Fantastic forum, great group of members!

Anyway, living in Townsville, so limited purchasing options.

Want a manual, no DSG for me. Not really interested in too many extras, Detroits look good, and MDI would be handy, but otherwise I'm easily pleased.

Took a test drive, and got an offer of $40,750 for a CS manual 5 door with MDI. Otherwise stock. It's the only GTI they have in stock, got 100km on it, been on the lot for 2 weeks. That price includes corporate discount.

Just curious on whether this is a good price for a car that's sitting on the lot with 100km on it? It's about a 12% discount, and living in Townsville that's pretty good, but I feel a little uneasy about those km's. Never know who was driving it, and how.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

                • it should be fine. and you'll have a warranty. if that's your final price it's not bad either, especially out there.

Hey kane - I am considering going to that dealer - I am in southern sydney. What is the delivery time on that vehicle. Do they have any more out there to look at etc.

for $47.5k - although i really love my music so the question is, how much do you have to spend aftermarket to get it up to similar/better quality than dynaudio?

                          Thanks
Realistically, I think you will still need to get a sub and an amp to add to the Dyna. Having said that, you can't replicate the quality of the Dyna, for even double the price. My dealer forgot to order mine hence I went aftermarket, and yes I did get some fancy beauty panels for my amps, but the cost of labour for the install was $1700, and I was without the car for 3 days. Take $400 off for the trick panels, and $200 for the overhead DVD install, it is still $1100 for not an overly complex install. That isn't to mention the rattles I get from the crossovers in the doors.

                          • Ordering MY11 GTI

                            hi all,

im looking to place an order on a 3 door / Manual MY11 GTI with the following extras:
                            - Deep Black Pearl Paint
                            - Sunroof
                            - Dynaudio
                            - MDI
                            - Bluetooth
                            - Bizennons
                            - Detroit 18's
                            - Dark Tint

I'm hoping to with some negotiations get it down to about $45K drive away - approx 11%-11.5% discount. Am i pushing it or should i be able to squeeze out the $45K (im in VIC)?

Also the final extra im after are the 'R' LED tail lights - the dealer has told me that these are not a option for the GTI - however ive seen they are now comming as standard on the UK and USA GTI's. Any idea if I will actually be able to somehow get these as an optional extra?
                            Thanks in advance!

Depends. Is this 3 or 5 doors? DSG? Legible for Corporate Plus discount?
