The Multifunction Display "Plus" shows for example Average speed -Fuel consumption thru to OIL TEMPERATURE
Others you can see are which door is open, the language and the maximum speed for tyres (for winter tyres etc which are limited)
PM if you are looking for: R32 rear sway bar; R32 suspension springs; Euro Headlight switches

Interesting... the MFD on the VI GTI seem to have all that.

      • Please please please let them come to Oz in Tornado. Candy White will probably be my next option

I'm not a massive fan of Leather seats and their cloth option looks pretty good, so I'd be happy with that

That's cause the MFD on a VI GTI is a MFD Plus

          • Deep blue pearl, and some equivalent to the latte leather (black or grey will be a deal breaker unfortunately).

Sunroof, DSG, RNS510, parking sensors, 5 door. And we've decided to keep the Mk 5 as well, so it will be an all 'blue' garage.

I'd start looking elsewhere then man. The only seat colours are the black/grey leather in the GTI and R32. Even in the standard Golf's that latte colour isn't available at this time, only Black/grey, Cornsilk Beige, and 'Trüffel'. Not sure that the last option is available in this country though.

The other option is to just get the standard cloth (if it comes out in cloth in this country) and then go get someone else to do the leather for you. The advantage of this is you can get whatever colour you want, get the leather type and texture you want, and even have two tones and different stitch colour. It's also usually cheaper than factory leather. The disadvantage is that you can't get the lower dash and door panels in a matching colour.

However you will save more money than that, because you will have ur standard seats that u can sell off too, which should gather u a bit of extra $$$...
                Just a thought

All the retrimmers I've spoken to will do door panels in matching leather.

Sorry, I meant the door 'plastics', not the door material/leather inserts.

So the lower dash, centre console, and all the door panel under the trim strip. As far as I'm aware, retrimmers usually only do the door inserts (leather area on and above the 'door arm rest').

                    • most confusing VW video ever..Golf R

                      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7406HxuUpA

i just saw this video posted on youtube a few days ago...

its supposed to be showcasing the R-line range of cars but the Golf displayed doesn't match the stuff we've been told about the R so far...no LED day driving lights, no R-badging on the front grill....is this maybe another line of cars? the talledega wheels are present as is the R-line steering wheel and the seats...but the lights? and the badging...im confused

the R-line is a "fancy dress" options pack available for "normal" Golfs.

                        • Yep. It's like the Audi "S Line" packaging for their regular models. Or BMW 'M' accessories and options for their regular cars. Nothing really confusing about it to me

Agreed, it is confusing because R refers to two different product lines. I think R line is referring to having a R "look" without being the real thing though as you say its not really an R look. Its nothing on the TFSI, TSI, FSI saga though!

                              • ok i suppose if i spoke fluent german i may have found it easier to understand...and if the R32 was still gunna be called the R20 then it may not be so confusing.....but im not a fan of the overlap with the upcoming Golf R...now that you all explain it, it makes sense thanks guys
