It may also be helpful, and of interest, if you all check out this PDF from the German Volkswagen site:
    Volkswagen R-Line

It's not just the Golf which the 'R-Line' will be available for, but the Scirocco, Tiguan, Passat and Passat CC as well.

The brochure is in German, but the pictures transcend all languages

    • I know initial buyers won't be getting any deals as they'll walk out the door but curious to see what prices were people getting on the R32.

What sort of deals were people able to get on a 3dr DSG R32 with sunroof?

              • Note: It's just called the Golf R (some call it the R20 as a throwback to the R36)

Yes it is on the site but all the information about it is already known.
The only thing we are waiting on is the official australian release date and the price.

                • ahh thanks im very keen to see the price, if its priced like the uk site it will be around 50g

                  • Considering the gti with a few option is around $50K it's unlikely the R20 will be close to that. The dealer here has indicated similar pricing to the R32, so more like $60K.

                    • The release date for the Golf R will be in May 2010 with a price comparable to the R32 - maybe up to a 5% increase though still not confirmed.

                      Hope this helps

                      Thanks

                      • So what would you be looking at for a 5dr approx David?

                        Comment

                        • For a 5 door Manual you should be looking between $61,500 and $64,500 and for the DSG about $64,300 and $67,500 on the road. This depends on VW increasing the price - it's hard to say if they will or not as the GTI stayed the same but the new Transporter has increased by 4.5%

                          • Power

I was told by a dealer that the Aussie release will have a 188kw motor not the 199kw as in england. Says it was something about the warmer weather here??
