    • Cool as.

Read the thread dude, it's up to date on what's going on. That's about it! Haha.

I've been busy doing other things and spending money on stuff to do with the Dragster, so progress is a little slow. But don't worry, give it a couple of weeks and i'll most likely buy a clutch and we'll be up and running again.

            • They both look sick man. White almost gives it rally look while the black looks more street - probably matches the car a bit more

I vote black. Having owned white wheels, I can safely say they are a massive pita to keep clean.

EDIT: well, maybe not on the back of a MK1 (drum brakes), but unless you're planning on having mismatched wheels with mismatched colours, black FTW.

Hahahaha, nah man it was just easier to try out the back wheels. Im going to most likely get them them black within a few day!

I love the look of black, it looks like Revnit's golf in his little pic. And i happen to love the black /orange theme! Ill get them all done then we shall see the result!

                        • Nah dude, im sticking with black. Just gotta get some smaller profile tyres and stretch em'.

Well guys heres my problem. Iv got that long bendy rod and have extended the bit underneath with the c clamp. I extended it to REVNIT's measurements. Now

the problem i have is the ratio is waaaay too close. I have driven it although the gears seam really wierd and its very hard to get 1st and 2nd. Im thinking if i

make that c clamp bit underneath that joins the long rod, a bit shorter hopefully ill have a bit further ratio. I still need to work on getting 5th into the picture haha.

Not only that but where first is ment to be, reverse happens to be there? any ideas at all?

Apart from that seems like we have got the timing pretty good as the car starts pretty quick whether it be cold or hot which is good, although im not sure if its due

to the cold but it smokes from time to time, today was white-ish smoke, but im pretty sure iv seen black, although it might be a mistake? It idles at 1000 rpm

steady and doesnt drop. Only today for some reason while i went around the block, when i stopped the car jsut couldnt idle alone and stalled. this happened 3

then worked fine again? By the sounds of my explenation is there anything wrong? One more thing is would someone recomend me where the best place to tune

the golf would be as it needs one.. thanks guys

                          • generally, white smoke indicates worn stem seals, black smoke indicates overfuelling, and blue smoke indicates worn piston rings, but as i said, a guide only. It could have just been steam, cause it's cold out etc.

                            • White smoke usually means blown head gasket. If you're getting blow by, it should be the same colour as if you have worn valve stem oil seals, as it's burning the same stuff.

                              • I reckon perhaps its just cold? Like i said it only blows white smoke every now and then, indicating maybe the cold. After i take it around he block and its warm, it doesnt smoke really.

Although i do get black smoke sometimes, but how can i be overfuelling? Wouldnt the float to the carbi be shut when its full, and if overfuelling wouldnt the carbi be drowned? sorry im just a little lost haha. But apart from that its running pretty good. Im just going to pay the rego this week and she's back on the road for a good tune.
