Hi gents, apologies if this has been explained already, but do we have a log list of changes/updates in SW versions? I am IT person myself, and know that updating can bring some cool features or fix bugs, but what is the difference between 2009 SW version and latest available (assume 523x). What extras does it give?
Also, on side note, my Premium provision system works fine with Samsung phones, BUT!! it works only with Vodafone here in NZ, and does not work with Spark. I wonder if this is software or hardware limitations... anyone knows?
I tried to ask dealers but they are clueless, as expected.

Thank you. I will check the site. Problem is likely to be in frequencies carries run at. Spark runs at 850MHZ and 2100 MHz. Voda runs at 900 MHz and 2100 MHz. so i assume that 2009 VW phone only supported 900MHZ. so the quesion is it hardware or software limitations.... i will try to find out from dealer or VW NZ again, but they don't seem to know much.Originally posted by kamold View PostComment

It isnt legal at all No matter who has the disc it is only supposed to be installed in one vehicle and you should get the disk, especially if you pay for it.
Some salesmen will do it for you and I had it done once when a new map came out shortly after I bought the car. I was told by the guy not to let the boss see me doing it. Interesting. That licensing agreement also means that you shouldn't be able to sell your disc without first removing the update from your head unit. In fact you cannot reinstall a map over itself I tried when people were having problems with streets not showing up in V6. I found I had to install V5 over it and then reinstall V6 over that.
A dealer who is charging $50 to install HIS map on your unit is simply ripping you off if he doesnt give you the disk as well.
He could make $500 out of that disk in a very short time and Im sure VW would dissaprove big time.
They have fixed it in other makes as the map version in a Mazda is linked to the car and you cant copy the SD card or put it in another car as it wont run without the card.
I think the Touareg is similar.
I found out about the Mazda the hard way when a friend asked me to register and update his SD card and me like a fool formatted it first.
