After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

it worked, i found a video on youtube on how to install firmware, it had a link to firmware, burnt it at 10x speed, chucked the disc in, no ignition, just press button with everything off... it worked. i now have sound, was able to change language to english and didnt lose any maps. its perfect. so happy. thank you all for your help so far.

Hi all, this thread has been inactive for over 6 months but hopefully help is still at hand....
My son just got a 2012 Skoda Superb Elegance and yes, the RNS 510 unit is doing the German language only thing. Thankfully, the unit is otherwise working normally. But I would still like to update the firmware with 5238 and upload the latest Aust maps. My Macbook doesn't have an optical drive, so burning a disk is a no go. And anyway, most of the links above are no longer active. I'm sure some of you burned the iso to a disk and did the update successfully. I'm hoping that somebody on here has a disk they no longer need. I am happy to reimburse for the cost of the disk and postage to me.
