glad it's moving ahead mate. I think you have sold me on the short shifter, and wouldnt mind a big Garrrett either...

Was the second thing I did, first was the headunit.
Short shifter feels so much better, more direct gear change, love my dieselgeek

Lito's MK4 GTI
I helped Marty order that a while ago. He reckons that's the first mod anyone should do before anything else lolOriginally posted by Lito View PostDieselgeek short shift kit arrived today

Fitting was very straight forward, just followed along with the video on my phone. Here it is hidden away

This has to be one of the easiest and one of my most favourite mods I've done. It really transforms the feel of the shifter, so precise with nice short throws. It's a little notchy but apparently this goes away after a little while.

Yeah it hasn't been the smoothest sailing but definitely worth it. Let me know when you're back up this way and we'll go for a brap

Dude sucks to see how many issues you've been having with it, but I'm glad to see it's getting some more love. Have to come for a brap when I'm next up in QLD

Will definitely be keen for a run once the tune is sorted!! Should be doing some logging with Gavin on the weekend, hopefully it won't turn into another rescue missionOriginally posted by AusScare View PostNice! Good to hear its back together.
I spent the other night putting my induction kit on the xr5, which turned into an absolute mission of breaking stuff haha bloody cars.
Runs good now on stage 3+ tune. Keen to go for a drive when yours is 100%!

So car is running again, no coolant leaking and no tow trucks
. Decided to celebrate by ordering some dba rotors to finish of my r32 brake setup and also ordered one of these VW Short shift kit for MK4 5 speed . Next on the list are engine mounts then its time to think about a decent diff and clutch setup. Gotta see how it handles the power once the full tune gets loaded on.

Yeah that's kinda what I thought, there has to be a reason for it to fail. One of the hoses that goes into the heater core has a bit of a kink in it, would this cause excess pressure. I'm gonna take out the turbo inlet tonight and trim those pipes so they sit better, it's just so damn tight back thereOriginally posted by Jmac View PostThis was new? shouldn't happen unless there maybe some excess pressure. Id be fixing whatever way, and then making sure the cooling system pressure is right or itll start taking out more weak links in the system.
Cheers
Jmac
