Put the new clutch disc in last weekend, not a fun job at all, very fiddly job without a lift. I think I’ll just pull the whole engine next time, that’s the way I’ve done it before and it’s alot easier and takes about the same amount of time. Also it’ll be probably be due for a timing job anyway and doing that with the engine in the car sucks too haha.

    All back together

Gave it a wash today as well

So the TT is still going strong and draining my bank balance [emoji51][emoji51]. I’ve installed 4 adjustable rear control arms so my rear tires last more than 6 months, an aeroflow fuel rail fuel rail and Turbosmart fuel pressure reg as I’m pretty sure my walbro fuel pump was flowing too much for the stock for at idle and cruise situations.
I moved to Brisbane at the start of may and noticed my clutch was starting to slip at anything over 20psi, yay.
Recently I had discovered a few cracks in the exhaust manifold and down pipe, also the turbo was leaking oil into my intake piping.

Didn’t want to change the set up as I love the way it drives so I just bought another manifold (number 3 now [emoji2357]) and a new pulsar gtx2867r gen2 turbo
New clutch is currently on its way for the 2nd time as they sent me the wrong one the first time.
Once the new clutch is in I’m super keen to hit the track again!

wheels suit the TT really well, glad they went to a good home...

I got your text about the bolt caps and didn't reply because I want to leave it as a reminder to post them to you. I've been trapped in SA for a while but when I'm home next I'll try to find them and post them on...

    take it easy mate...

New wheels plus a lot of maintenance, no more oil leaks and a fresh timing belt for the old girl, also put in a chassis brace and double din head unit

Just spent an hour reading back through this thread. Enjoyed the memories it triggered, well most of them. Maybe not the tow truck parts.... But the rest of them

Thought I’d give a bit of an update. The TT is still going strong and draining my bank account haha.

Got myself some 2200cc injectors, an 034 intake manifold (large port) and custom 3” cold side cooler piping.

And just scored this QS bumper this week. Gonna take a lot of cutting to get it to fit though, damn intercooler.

In between the new turbo and the clutch going I did a few things including a friend making me a custom stainless exhaust with a plumbed-back-to-atmosphere wastegate pipe [emoji6]. I made a 4” intake, got a heat sheild for the coil packs, wrapped the downpipe and I’m sure a few other things I forgot.
    New clutch looks beefy though

It’s a RTS Automotive clutch supplied by GTM performance. Currently done around 150km of bedding in and so far it feels amazing. Pedal feel is a lot nicer than the fx400. Once I get some bigger injectors, I’m maxing out 1000cc at the moment, I’ll turn the boost up around 30psi and see what happens haha.

So I had a change of mind and I’ve decided to keep this thread alive, I think it’d be easier just to keep everything in the same place. The TT seems to like eating parts more than the golf did, I guess that was my fault as I have the car running on flex fuel now and boost was turned up to 25psi.

A few months ago my turbo blew on the way home from a track day, the ball bearings failed, wheels contacted housings and there was a lot of smoke haha.

The Garrett GT2871r was replaced by a Mambatek GTX2867r with an external wastegate welded to the exhaust housing

Everything was going great, then at 23psi my clutchmasters fx400 started to slip[emoji854]
