Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    • Had a CEL come on about 3 days after I fitted my turbo intlet. Plugged in the VAGCOM and ran a scan. I had an issue with the secondary air injection - incorrect airflow. Checked all the connection and found that my DV had rubbed against the combi valve and ripped the silocon pipe. Trimmed a bit off the inlet pipe where the DV connected to and the silicon pipe to the combi valve. There's more clearance between the two. Cleared the code and need to drive around for a few more days until the system has more info and will check it then. Did a throttle body alignment while I still had the lappy out.

Also installed the Forge front strut. Definitely more planted going around corners.

My Milltek TBE finally arrived on Thursday, it's booked in on Monday. I can't wait.

Pog, if you still need one, try AMG Australia in Sydney - they are the OZ Importer. I had to get a new set of caps for my Superleggeras, one had fallen out but they couldn't match them from Italy so I got a full new set for cost of 1 + postage!

        • Got myself a Zoom H2n to play with my Canon 7D. Just a test shot, and thought I'll share. Just a quick video of the exhaust sound.

          • Gave my car a good tub and detail, then it was up on to the stands to find a knock in the rear end. Knock was found and fixed, Bach down on to it's wheels... Then it rained...

The ones I got are Autometer gauges

Would be looking at something like this for boost
                    Auto Meter

Id be looking at putting the oil pressure and AFR under the heater controls and the boost in the driver side vent (with the vent replacement piece)

Rear left top shock mount. Bolts weren't as tight as they sould have been. I think they worked loose after I put the coil overs in last year. Now I just need to replace the front strut tops and sway bar links and hopefully that should get rid of the knock in the front end!!

check out my boost gauge next time you see me. Looks OEM and isn't in your face.

                          • Painted front and rear badges. Not 100% happy with how they turned out (minor runs etc.) but looks kind of cool. Might refresh them next weekend if i can be bothered.
