Whats the Specs of the Team Dynamics wheels and tire specs greg, any pics with them on
Took these at the bottom of the Reefton while breaking in a new Advan semi-slick
I don't think the colour scheme works very well - the white with blue stripe would work better. And the 7mm less offset makes it look like the wheels are sticking out a bit. Oh well, I didn't buy them for posing
Resident grumpy old fart VW - Metallic Paint, Radial Tyres, Laminated Windscreen, Electric Windows, VW Alloy Wheels, Variable Geometry Exhaust Driven Supercharger, Direct Unit Fuel Injection, Adiabatic Ignition, MacPherson Struts front, Torsion Beam rear, Coil Springs, Hydraulic Dampers, Front Anti-Roll Bar, Disc Brakes, Bosch ECU, ABS
Notice any difference in handling with a lighter weight wheel?
Couldn't really tell as I've never driven with the semi-slicks on winding public roads. I couldn't tell if the reduced offset had any effect on the steering either as the semi-slicks are ridiculously better than any 'normal' tyre (that I've ever used anyway) to the point where I was chickening out (especially on right handers) well before approaching the handling limits.
They're only 1k lighter than the OEM 15" rims in any case
Finally chipped my car last week. Also fixed up the fogginess of my headlights. Gave it a good wet sanding and plastic polish by Plastx then gave it a quick wash. Now it's clean and shiny.
Finally fitted the forge turbo inlet and throttle body hoses. For the inlet hose I had to move the transmission cable bracket to get to the 8mm hex screw that held the hose bracket so I could get enough room. It's definitely is a b*tch of a job, it was so tight that I couldn't get the inlet pipe to line up straight so I trimmed it a bit. Everything fits really snuggly.
I can feel the car breath a bit better and the car doesn't struggle so much in the top of the rev range. TBE should arrive next week

Finally had my wheel alignment done after fitting Eddy's inserts a while ago. Now have -0.75 camber on both sides, and +5 castor.
What do you think of them Stuwey, has it fixed the tramlining and torque steer? I bought them off Eddy and haven't fitted them, although I can't find the box that I put them in - Hopefully he still has some in stock.

Replaced the earth strap. I suspected it was dodgy for ages but it looked fine. Got the multimeter out the other day when the car wouldn't start and was reading 10.5 volts from the positive terminal to earth. Gave the strap a wiggle and was back up to 12 volts..
Hopefully no more random dash lights, radio and power steering cut outs. So far so good.
