  • Cracked the SAI hose whilst ****ing about in the engine bay.

So, if I'm gonna delete this thing what's the go? Lots of the original advice was confused with different brands of tune.

Also, get rid of the vacuum crud that's attached on top of the valve cover?
    Cheap, Fast, Reliable. Choose two.

    • You need to blank the connection to the engine, make or buy a plate.
Removal of the bolts mounting it to the block require removing a coolant connection. You drop fluid (a little if you're Gav, a heap if you're me).
You can bin all the SAI fun on the top, need to crimp the remaining boost line or 2. Sold mine.

This requires APR or CC code to stop a code (some debate, some have had luck with resistors, but seems dependant on which tune its done with).

What pod did you stick on the sai intake piping?

Was a calibre mini pod, had 25mm inner diameter hole.

I've since taken mine off as per "noones" advise. Definitely noticed it was sluggish once the engine bay warmed up as he told me it would.

PS thanks for the heads up mate (noone), I tried to pm you but your inbox was full!

Don't cut it up mate. You can turn it into a pod in a box pretty easy. Using a 90 degree silicon bend. Can't remember the size but one of the Polo lads up here did one earlier in the year and it looks very factory.

When I get a minute I'll try and find it.

Stuwey, I have SAI block off plates.

In WA it's not illegal to have an open pod

But if you can find the info I would be more than happy to see it.

Also, how much are your block off plates?

And, any idea where to get a coolant temp sensor from? That doesn't cost $75?

Tenner plus post for the plate. $10.55 for express.

part number in your other thread..\

Might be legal but not good for power. Needs to be contained to prevent hot air getting in.

Thanks! I'll send you a pm regarding the plate.

In regards to the pod, what were you thinking to use for the pod and pod box?

Nice, same level of boost to me, dare I say the intake manifold may not be ice cold after a track session. Kinda reluctant to burn my office worker hands in the pursuit of finding out.

I had infra red gun Sean. I'll bring it on the 12th. Can check your tyres out as well.

I'm not doing happy laps at the moment as I'll be there on the 11th for timeattack.

Oh, did MCA ever come back to you? I couldn't be happier with the red car atm, it's awesome after Accurate Suspension did fine tuning, though need some open road to unleash it. You're welcome to have a steer.

I wouldn't mind calling in Sean, but on days so only finish at 1430. Will you be there after 3?

                                Still waiting on MCA.
