      • Changed the pollen filter and installed a turbosmart boost gauge. Both very easy tasks.

I'm looking at options for this - where is the gauge positioned in the car and where did you feed the line through the firewall?

          Thanks/cheers.

Just behind the steering wheel for now. I fed the line through the passenger footwell (through the rubber grommet). You need to be a contortionist to reach the line when it comes out in the engine bay down below the airbox. For wiring I used the ciggie lighter illumination and ground. Can put up pics if that helps

Pics would be extremely helpful - to me and likely to others doing the same install.

                Many thanks in advance.

Follow the guide located here: Guide: How to fit a boost gauge

It's comprehensive and helped me with my install.

                  • Got new rims fitted last week, BBS RC 324's, really happy with them, quite a different aesthetic to the BBS RW2's they replaced.

                    More/higher res pictures here.

Now i feel even more of a need to lower it a bit though, just have to save up.

                          • Lots of boost and dump noise, not a good idea for summer.

Can you expand on that? Sorry never had a pod filter before so not aware of any issues associated with them

                              • No dramas, I responded to your PM.

A tuned polo creates a lot of hot air, an exposed pod filter sucks in that hot air (less oxygen) and then makes less power. Experiences vary, but I did a bit of testing around this and keeping engine air away from the induction is the best option IMO.

The PD160 is still the best option, a pod filter and a little bit of custom playing or a 1/2 airbox filter is good. There are a few threads on the topic and a few posts in my thread, let me know if you cant find them (use google to search the section, the search function on this forum is pretty useless).
