Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Offset = 35mm, the rear will scrub if ya go to low, 30mm would suit most. Make that 40mm would suit most.
Offset = 35mm, the front had less problems funny enough, but in saying that I was running with neg. camber of 3.2%
The inside on the front to the strut has 10 - 11mm clearance & not touching the inner guard even with neg camber.
The 225/45/16 is only 5mm higher & wider than the 215/40/17 which fits easily.
Its the 215/45/17 thats causes problems, its a tall sucker.

Just in case folks do take notice from what I do I had to edit. (In red.)

    • Finally got around to editing my footage from Winton. Here's a clip of my best lap of the day - pity about the wind noise!

Nice, now i can copy your lines, they were totally different to my ones lol
At 1:33 those two corners you seem to keep in and hug the curb, where i seem to run quite wide on those and all i get is wheelspin out of the corner in 2nd gear

How are the federals for grip

            • Had a Dyno day with VWgolf.net.

After they put all the Golf R's through and then MK6's with their tunes and intakes i finally got a run

I was aware the Dyno always shows low numbers, so I was prepared.

One the car was on and running they couldnt get a AFR reading (might be due to the varex or something), so they only gave it one little quick spirt and then took it off as they didnt want to push it. Normally on the 3rd run they make the most power he told me

              Anyway here is the results

                      • Anyone know what APR claim for their K04 on a Polo

Even tho I pulled 153.7 I know it is a 160kw atw + car. Most of the cars had around 8-10kw+ more on the 3rd run and i only had 1 run without pushing it

I still have the standard turbo manifold on too and havent done any logging to see whats going on.
Wait till I get a proper one like the JBS

How many polos are putting out 160KW atw

We should start a polo dyno thread, interested to see the power curve compared to a K03

For those that didn't see his post, he said he was a "very happy boy" or words to that effect!

                          Sorry again.

                            • Went over to Harding Performance so Guy could dial in the ratio etc on the new Dynapack for Pogwars. Pretty happy with the results.. Intake temps were a bit high to start with but got them down to around 40c after the first run - Guy's new fan is impressive. Should drop a bit further once my enclosed CAI turns up - just had the open pod today so would have been copping a fair bit of heat. Will try to get a custom DP done before the dyno day so I can see how that helps. Anyway.. APR vs "stock".
