  • It's alright, I can get one from ECS easy enough! I just remembered you had two and someone else mentioning they'd had one and disliked it, so thought I'd check here first.

Thanks for the offer though... If you decide you don't want it, let me know, but don't sacrifice yourself for $90!

    • Went down to Winton again today for some track time, managed to shave about half a second off my previous PB set about a month ago - quickest time is now 1:46.7. The only change I made from the previous track day was flushing out the stock brake fluid and replacing it with some nice high temp Motul RBF660 fluid.

Lack of LSD and relatively skinny tyres (205s) really frustrated me on the day, the KW V1s were also pretty soft and induced quite a lot of body roll on the track which made chasing some of the other cars quite tough.

Next on the list is to upgrade pads and rotors, stock ones are holding up reasonably well but I'd imagine a nice set of slotted/dimpled rotors and aggressive pads will help shave another half a second or two! A Forge rear strut is also on the to-do list...

      Some pics of the day:

      And my favourite...

It was a tampered motorsport day, really chill day and everyone was friendly, recommend them if you ever decide to hit Winton!

I've only got a GIAC tune, FMIC and an exhaust...never had my car dynoed but I'd probably expect around 130ish kw atw?

Well I've got almost comparable mods so would be good to see the difference after my run on the 20th

I've got myself some TRW GP600 brake fluid from Greg at GSL and some Valvoline FullSyn 5w40 to go in beforehand

FAARK, and with a passenger too?? You are seriously quick
Get real semislicks next and the grip will be far less of an issue - THEN you can start stiffening up your roll bars for improved response.

              • Woohoo, my Forge intercooler arrived today! Thanks GTI Dave!

Now just to find the time to fit it.

Thoughts - keep it silver or paint it black for the stealth look?

                  • what sort of paint would you use? you don't want to inhibit the thermal transfer...

                    • I decided to leave it silver cause I couldn't be bothered waiting for the paint to dry. Pretty easy to fit, it's just getting the bumper and grills back on properly is he tricky part!

Damn you Dave and you're welcoming propositions Will bear you in mind. Perhaps PM me a price including freight to brisbane... might as well add a front strut brace too, just for reference sake

                          • Washed, detailed, clay barred, and waxed the car today for tomorrows Marques In The Park... I have to say that the car is look great, and the paint feels so smooth after the clay barring... I'm very happy with it!!

                            • Installed a PD160 air intake yesterday. Haven't had a chance to give it much of a boot full, but does feel better throughout the rev range and less lag when it comes on boost. With the standard intake, there was an obvious kick at 3k as full boost arrived, that transition is now much smoother. I wasn't expecting much, but am very happy with the improvement.
