Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

      • Just completed the rear wiper delete, nice and easy job, need to go down and get a bung for the hole but thats a fairly simple process.

Once the rear seats are out that will be stage one of the weight reduction phase.

Just fold the rear backrest flat and then use a large flat bladed screwdriver to rotate the clip thingy that holds the outer seat axle in (there's a little indent in it to help you get it moving) until the axle is fully exposed. The just lift up that side of the backrest so you can slide the inner axle end out of the fixed mount.

Takes longer to describe it than to do it.

Buller_Scott, this was the other thing I forgot to show you after the vdubclub cruise....

                  • Is everyone else laughing at all this talk of bungs and holes or am I the only childish one here?
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting

                      • I had to giggle a bit when an acknowledgement of payment came back for a dash cubby I purchased online, and my wife saw the email address and asked: "Just out of interest, why is vajlink emailing you?"

                        • Just finished Stage 1 Weight Reduction (Sounds like im playing Need for Speed or something stupid.
But I have just broken it down into stages.

1: While it is a daily, it will be rear seats and rear trim (minus door cards and wiper delete)

2: Sprints: Carpet and sound deadening.

3: Crap under the dash and all those other little bits and pieces. When it has a cage built. (If I keep it that long)

                          • Just noticed the "PXL KIWI WIFI" in your sig.

How do you find it as some posts on other sites said the updates were slow (based solely on view you tube clips). I wouldn't mind monitoring things like inlet manifold pressure and temp, accelerator position etc.
