Having recently washed and polished it, I treated all the plastic/rubber bits to some Mothers protectant/polish, and have finally been able to order (and pay for) a dash cubby from here.
The local dub dealer has never heard of these.
The local dub dealer also can not tell me if a part I would like (a passenger seat storage bin) will actually fit my car, and they want $185 up front with no guarantee nor refund option. Oh, they also have a rather high labour charge rate at servicing (the same guys who don't know if the storage bin will fit. As in, no idea, not even prepared to guess.)
Is this typical?2007 VW Polo GTi, white, standard. First registered in Japan, imported to NZ 2010. Owned since Dec/10. Love at first drive.

Of course. Why would you expect a dealer to know anything about non-VW accessories? In Australia we get those parts from places like Dub Ad·dic·tion [duhb uh-dik-shuhn]
Dealers also always have a higher labour rate than independents. That's nothing new, nor is it unique to VW or euro brands.

Yep, tried dubaddiction, would have been superb. Unfortunately they're out of stock, and the owner advises that it is unlikely to be renewed, due decreasing demand.2007 VW Polo GTi, white, standard. First registered in Japan, imported to NZ 2010. Owned since Dec/10. Love at first drive.
