          • Love watching your thread Gavin

When you buy parts i just get so tempted to go on ebay lol, some gauges would be nice, AFR and EGT, guess they help in tuning and as failsafe's ?

Must be awesome to build up a engine with all the go fast bits and watch it come together

The safety shoes are the least of my worries. I'd get shut down for the trip hazards and a lot more besides!!

Sorry Troy, not my intention I assure you EGTs I am curious about with the cracks you see in manifolds and hotsides.

AFR is good too though, fuel pump failures or dying slowly.

I am dead set intent on wearing my mirrors down Pete. I know what you mean about access and I probably should have thought about it ages ago. Cash flow not really up to it, still not paid for the snail.

What's need to make that work Richard, just a probe?

You'd need a wb o2 sensor (probe), and a translator box to recognize the signal for the gauge.

Some people make use of the existing o2 sensors but voltage spread across two translating sources (ie: OEM ecu and external box) becomes a little iffy which can cause inaccurate reads.

There are kits available (innovative) which are cheap insurance to monitor a/f during operation at real time.

                      Mike.

Thanks Mike, I have an Innovate LM1 and data box for logging MK4s for AFR and boost when doing Phase 3 tunes like Lito's. I'll have a look at Innovates site and see what comes in the kit.

                        • I have the lm2 which is the later model of the lm1. Sensor as you probably know is a vag part.

It depends on the gauge as to what you need. The mtx-l series have the wideband controller built in for example.

They have some excellent multidisplay gauges (in concept at least, I've not tried them).
