No problems with the sensor. Not waiting on anything now, just wondering how many of those bushes to get? WHen I come down at the end of the month maybe you can scan it in for future reference.

No mate, it did a rod bearing and the crank a month ago. So I am waiting on some new rods from the States and a few other pieces to start again.Originally posted by Water Boy View PostSo ist going the full hog now Gav.

Didn't you recently upgrade the rods?Originally posted by h100vw View PostNo mate, it did a rod bearing and the crank a month ago. So I am waiting on some new rods from the States and a few other pieces to start again.

I did but the bearing spinning, shagged the rod and crank all in one go. I bought another set rather one rod that wasn't matched for weight.Originally posted by Njay View PostDidn't you recently upgrade the rods?

Nek minit

So it's been out a day or two now. I haven't been completely slack though. Had to make some space about the place first, so chucked out some crap. Cleaned up a few parts. Gearbox now off the engine and the old clutch surveyed. No wear as you would expect, still has machining marks on the cover.
Not sure if it's worth much secondhand, ECS kit with flywheel is $300 USD plus shipping. I saw a couple of clutch only kits for $200 plus shipping on ebay.
I'd $125 plus shipping if anyone is interested, if not I can keep it just in case
Needs a solid flywheel but they can be had from any VW with a cable change gearbox that isn't a DMF. Folk call them G60 but there's tons of VWs that use them. CamdenGTI have a load on the shelf.
Taking the replacement crank, rods etc to my engine builder down south on Monday, for a balance and clearance checks. I bought 2 sets of big end bearings this time. If the crank isn't spot on for the std size, it'll be ground and oversize bearings fitted instead.

Felt good to do a bit actually. I guess not having the new turbo is a mental hold up on the job. Fingers crossed he emails me soon.
