The APR Down Pipe removed the factory resonator, so if your still running the stock system then need not worry about this step mateOriginally posted by jazzyjames999 View PostThanks Azza, but why did you get a new resonator? I was planning on using the stock one and connecting the mk7 muffler to it.MY18 Tiguan 162TSI R-Line, Black, DAP, Sunroof & Tow with APR Stage 2 Tune & DownPipe

Cheers for the reply Azza83.
City Performance Centre in Vic quoted $369 + $15 for shipping interstate.
It is a bit more than I was hoping so will have to think about it. Just harder to sneak past the CFO (wife) haha.
I've asked if they are willing to do group buy pricing, if they are who else is keen?Current:

2020 Mk7.5 Golf R Wagon, White

Tiguan Exhaust
Yeah, it was a bit more than I wanted to spend on a switch too - the MK7 valves are closed by default but the MK7.5 is open and was too loud open for daily driving with the DP, so I needed a way to close it and still have the option when I wanted some noise [emoji41]Originally posted by veew View PostCheers for the reply Azza83.

Did you install the exhaust switches yourself?Originally posted by azza83 View PostYeah, it was a bit more than I wanted to spend on a switch too - the MK7 valves are closed by default but the MK7.5 is open and was too loud open for daily driving with the DP, so I needed a way to close it and still have the option when I wanted some noise [emoji41]Current:

Tiguan Exhaust
Yes, it’s a plug & play harness, very easy DIY - only mod is to clip the oem power plug, wire the positive & negative to the socket in the boot, remove some trim and run the exhaust valve wires through a grommet under the car - these then just connect straight up with a few zip ties to tidy [emoji106]Originally posted by veew View PostDid you install the exhaust switches yourself?MY18 Tiguan 162TSI R-Line, Black, DAP, Sunroof & Tow with APR Stage 2 Tune & DownPipe

Leyo system should come with its own controllerOriginally posted by Rabbit222 View PostLeyo Motorsport are clearing stock on their valved / resonated MK7 R / Mk7.5R catback systems. Their website says $1500 USD rrp. What's a 'good' price to pay for an exhaust of this type?Originally posted by Rabbit222 View PostLeyo Motorsport are clearing stock on their valved / resonated MK7 R / Mk7.5R catback systems. Talking about exhausts, saw a video of a guy that bought an early 2000's Merc S600 which runs the same engine as the Pagani Zonda then spent 12k on an exhaust to make the S600 sound like a Zonda... Was epic..Originally posted by Beedub View PostFrom what I've seen, $2500 to $3500 for cat-back systems from Aus resellers.
If the exchange rate was better 1500 USD would be ok.Tiguan Gen2 162TSI Etuners IS38 Stage 3 238.6 kw@4 wheels

My exhaust sounds like **** since my mods. Thinking of seeing a custom exhaust shop in Sydney to see if I can do 3in all the way to match the DP without introducing drone, and whether there's any performance benefit in doing so.
If not I'll go the Golf R Mk7/7.5 muffler route.

I have done just over 18,000 kms and have noticed the following in my Allspace
Very quiet exhaust from new
At about 7k-8k, it got a little throatier and started to get a little louder
I assume some carbon build up
In the last few weeks, I reckon mine has now started to get an annoying raspy tone/drone with just a bit of throttle once the engine/exhaust starts to get a little warm - say after driving about 10-15mins. Under hard acceleration it sounds fine, and with cruising it's still quiet, but just add a bit of pressure on the accelerator and the new louder tone appears.
Just wondering if having a Stage 1 tune can introduce this because the car is running richer and unburnt fuel is degrading the muffler baffles?2018 Allspace 162TSI R Line

Stage 1 tune will run leaner as they run very rich from the factory. This is done to cater for the people that may use cheap low octane fuel.
Cant say I get any drones with my stage 2. You should hear nothing with the stock downpipe and rear muffler.Tiguan Gen2 162TSI Etuners IS38 Stage 3 238.6 kw@4 wheels
