150kwaw for stage 2 sounds a bit low given your stock was 130kwaw.

For a reference my gen1 155TSI made 120kwaw stock and 144kwaw stage 1 and previous stage 2 125TSI Tig was 152kwaw all run on the same dyno.

    • Top of my head possible problems..

How many kms you got? Tight engine that needs more time to run it..

98 octane in the tank or bad batch of fuel meaning you could not run the right ignition timing / boost?

A dyno setting like ambient temperature was set wrong and too low but if you got stock and stage 2 done back to back cant be problem.

Blockage in downpipe or exhaust after downpipe install.

Dyno run in 4th gear? 4th is the closest 1:1 ratio gear

      • A stage 1 tune should have you back to the "nominal" kW output from your engine at the wheels - i.e. 162kwaw for stage 1 give or take.

Stage 2 should bump this by around 10-20kwaw depending on other mods (intake, intercooler, fuel pump, etc).

A fuel pump does not make power, it just allows more fuel to be supplied in order to reach the desired AFRs, breathing modifications will make power as well as allow head room for more power to be made with more timing and boost.

Also a leaner AFR will make more power, so hypothetically a car with lacking fuel pressure or an under performing HPFP will actually make more power (which can be unsafe, higher EGTs, higher cylinder pressure, higher chance of knock/detonation)

Yes agree 100%. It just depends what the limiting factor is that’s stopping you from adding more fuel/air. And most tuners will want to do this with some safety margin for bad batch of fuel, elevation changes, ambient temps, etc, etc.

Just saw this post and raised my eyebrows ...if you haven't been hit up by others in PMs already do some internet searching on your tuner and/or ask around locally.

Don’t worry he has PMs and is working through the issues. This is an example of a business claiming that they can deliver a certain result but come up short. His car should be making closer to 180kwaw at stage 2 and he’s 30kwaw away from that which is a massive difference.

We’ll have to wait and see how this one plays out but if history is any indication it’ll be another unhappy Redline customer

I’m hopeful for a good result for twyat1 but not holding my breath.

If I were twyat1 I wouldn't let them touch it again, and would go visit someone else to sort it out. Probably done his/her dough, but that's much less than the cost of a new motor...

Gotta pay to play and buyer beware.

Mate had his car done out at BPS, James really knows his stuff.
He got 225kw at the Front wheels on a mates Skoda RS (JB4 got ~208kw)
Thats with DP, full Cat back, IE IC, All intake mods etc.

                    • So does anyone have any recommended JB4 Map 6 settings for a stock 162 Tiguan? Asking for a friend...

                      • Sorry about my late reply, my phone wasn't logged in to Tapatalk. Still in process to organise but I have been unable to with work. I'll be sure to update everyone once I manage to get it sorted with Redline.

                          Hey mate,
This seems to be the go to for most stock Skoda Octavia RS, same EA888 motor 162 kW /FWD.
You done the Airbox mod mate? Ie cut out the left hand side air intake of the Airbox?

Use at your own risk etc.... do a couple of logs, check trims and AFR

I was happy with the Map2, but the below is a bit of map1 and map2
This map showed 200kW at wheels on the Dyno

                          • Awesome info, thanks. Do any other settings need to be changed for that map? Fuelling to 50?

                            • Start at 50 FOL, if your trims are high, ie over 40, make FOL 60. Rumor is anything more than 60 and you'll get fuel rail pressures codes.

Do a couple of 4th logs, key thing in AFR , trims and target vs real boost is with in a psi or 2, nothing more.

You can email George at BMS for tuning help.

Join SkodaModderz mate, a lot of knowledge on there, we have done most mods to the EA888 (I see your Brisbane too, Im in Nundah)

                              • Hi,

Who do people recommend to use for turning in Brisbane? I have been waiting for Harding to come out with a tune for a few months and have just been told that they don't have a confirmed ETA on when they will have one.

I have fitted a BMS intake, muffler del, turbo elbow, divertor valve and have a down pipe ready to fit. Was looking at the JB4 units just wondering if the CEL error is evident with the JB4 and the aftermarket down pipe.
