I have ordered/received my New Tiguan

I asked them last Monday. They told me it would be about 10 business days for the car to reach the dealer, after which they will call me and arrange delivery date. Based on the 10 days, I'm expecting a call on Friday. They said the delivery would be about 4 days after that (i.e about next Thursday) but that they would confirm that when they call me.

Mine landed 2 days before yours so I should be getting a call today?

Potentially. The 10 days they quoted is typical turnaround from Port Kembla to their dealership. Not sure if it's the same for Port of Melbourne and your dealer, but you'd think so. Also depends on whether they will call you the day it arrives or not.

The sales manager also quoted me the same time. I remember my MkVI GTI took 21 days from port to dealership, but I have seen people get theirs within 10 days from landing.

You'll be front of mind in the case they've got multiple deliveries to organise and they're booking in the days to do it, but then again you've waited so long, another couple of days isn't going to hurt... bahahaha. Who am I kidding, I'd be down there asking for a peek as the truck arrives

I want to, but at the same time I don't want to be that "annoying" customer. I want a ride in the truck to make sure that it gets to the dealer in one piece!

It's an interesting conundrum, at the end of the day you're the customer paying good coin for a new car. I'd be enquiring and I'd do it with full disclosure ie, ok guys it's been a long wait, we're now 10 days down from arrival what's the situation, when can I get my car?, you're going to dazzle me with your exceptional customer service that I absolutely have to recommend you to all my friends and give you a 5 star rating on FB reviews

I have tried to ask in the past and the sales manager response is - we don't know until Patricks calls us and tells us that the car is on its way. They did say within 2-3 weeks after landing if all is ok i.e. no damage and no contamination on the ship.

yeah, i thought it would be 2 weeks on standard, moreover, me and dew bought the car from same Mcgrath Liverpool but i picked up 1 week earlier than him.

Lucky you. As I said in one of my other posts, knowing that the car is at Patricks just a few kms away from my house makes it that much harder! Oh well, hopefully by next Friday I along with Gladbach will be behind the wheel of our new cars.

Thank you guys for the details. I hope my order doesn't get push back further. I guess I should ask for the NADCON details list that some of your guys are getting which will give me a better indication of where my car is at.

OK So I just got off the phone with the dealer & he told me that there seems to be a glitch in the system which they are trying to confirm & figure out with VW Oz as mine & a few other cars on order are now showing a later build commencement date & delivery date of early Oct....I have gone from originally a May delivery, to June & now potentially October....WTF....He made the comment that maybe the push back is cause of back log of MY17 builds & they could be slotting it into MY18 production queue??.He will tell me more as soon as he knows...
