No, don't need any Adapter cable (had the same in my MK6 and it was a pain) there is just a standard USB port in the front lower compartment so use standard Apple USB to Lightening cable.
I haven't looked for a shorter cable yet as still deciding if I want to get a mount for my phone. If you do buy one make sure it is a certified cable otherwise it will only charge your phone the data connection and therefore the CarPlay functionality won't work.

You can buy a shorter cable from the Apple Store, l have one, from memory is about30cm long
I actually think it would have been nice to have a usb cable in the centre console (between the two seats) or the glove box. With app connect you don really need access to your phone, so it would be nearer to have it hidden away.
Thanks guys. Shortest Apple cable I could see was 50cm. I've ordered a few different ones from Amazon. As I don't know what length will be ideal, I've ordered a few - 4" (AmazonBasics), 6" (Belkin) and 1ft (Anker), all black in colour to blend in. All allegedly Apple MFi certified so hopefully one will last the distance. Whatever I don't use in the car, I will use with my power bank or desktop.

I have this one in the car - it is short black and flexible - works really well

Hi, Just got word that my Tiguan will be delivered late May... My first VW, looking forward to the experience.
I originally ordered a White 162tsi Rline back in DEC 16 and was told earliest I would see it is late AUG 17. Have since been offered another car due in MAY same spec I wanted but in Tungsten Silver... I said ok, hope I like the colour.

It's a lovely colour mate. I feel it really show cases the rims! There are a few colours that are great. Enjoy and keep us posted on your experience

I would have done the same as you. The silver is a lovely colour, not sure if you've seen the car advice review but it features the R-Line in silver. Looks really classy.
Thanks very much, I just checked it out and it does look very classy in that colour. Can't wait to get it now.
I'm going from a TI Xtrail to the Tiguan so I'll document the differences when I get it.

I have a white R line and whilst I wouldn't say I regret the color choice, it does show up even minor dirt. Had a Tungsten golf previously and hardly ever looked dirty. I reckon you made the right decision.
Only done about 30kms in the car so far, and these are my initial impressions:
1. Not as quick as the Golf GTI but that is to be expected on a bigger car.
2. Technology is awesome and everything just works and makes sense. App Connect works really well and works first time every time.
3. Active info display is sharp and quite easy to read - worth the extra money and the DAP should be something everyone should have.
4. Navigation takes a long time to boot up - maybe in the next firmware update it might be a bit quicker.
5. Car handles really well and you don't feel like you are in an SUV.
6. Have had no problems with the easy open boot. Works first time every time (just find the middle and kick your leg forward once you have kicked it, take a step back).
7. Going over speed humps you can still feel most of it (probably cause it is sitting on 20 inch wheels).
8. LED lights around the sunroof looks stunning and so does all the other ambient lighting.
9. Those with kids, I have fitted 2 baby seats in the back next to each other with ease (behind the driver and one in the middle).
10. Fuel economy not as good as I expected but that will improve as the engine wears in and I do a bit of freeway driving.
11. Found there was a function/display that shows you the amount of G force. It's really cool when you go around corners and watch it rise.
Will touch base again when I get a better drive in it.

We would be looking to put a baby seat and booster seat in the back seat also. With the seats behind driver and middle, is there plenty of room for an adult to sit on the other seat? Any pics?
We picked our Tig up Thursday, just in time for the Easter break! [emoji4]
There was a blue Comfortline next to ours in the showroom but it seemed to lack any of the wow factor that the Highline (and of course the R-Line) have.
Loving it so far, makes the Passat feel ancient! But it still can't touch the Mercedes for head turning ability [emoji6]
I feel a bit out of place amongst all of these higher specced Tiguans
My new pride and joy - 110TSI Comfortline with Driver Assistance Pack, replacing my 2012 Jetta. Had it for a week now, yet to get it out on the open road for a long cruise
