I have ordered/received my New Tiguan

It may look like only the sales manager will have access to the NADCON. I've been asking my dealer for months and he even started ignoring my emails. I had to email the general enquiry email address to finally get a NADCON print out from the sales manager.

I signed in Oct-16 and now been given a date of the end of July!

Does anyone know what
"SGW Rebooking" is?

My dates had a 3 months gap! What the heck?!!!

SGW rebooking and SGW determination are the 6th and 7th steps in the process of taking your car from order to delivery. There are about 25 steps the fist being a signed contract with the dealer, then to VWA and so on. I don't know what SGW stands for but the next step but 1 is to hand the car to production in Germany. You can't be far from having a build week allocated. Once you know that then rule of thumb add 12 weeks for delivery to you.

step 10 is your body being built, step 13/14 is the paint job step 14/15 is final assembly and QC.

so if SGW determination is 18/3 your car is probably being built about now(ish). As I understand the car actually takes about a week to build from a sheet of metal to coming out the factory.

so say your car is built around April 1 therefore next week add 12 weeks and it takes you to around July 1.

i think that info is pretty much correct in a rule of thumb sort of way. Hope it helps.

My cancelled order had SGW determination of 18/3. It was scheduled to be handed over to production 27/5 and exit production 27/6, so it's possible it may be some time yet...

That's quite a gap.....close to 8 weeks. Seems to suggest that they can't get all the parts together. Sunroof availability has been a reported issue (not sure if that is correct or not) but as I understand things SGW determination is about confirming the car can actuallly be built - that they have all/or will have all the parts required to meet each cars specification.

fortunately my dealer was able to provide info to us as it happened. Ordered 30/8 we had a build week by the beginning of October, a ViIN before the middle of November and a date of shipment along with the boats details on November 30. Car left Germany on a December 1 and was delivered on Jan 20 something (after Australia Day) exactly as promised.

clearly a different experience for those suffering very long lead times or delays.

Ordered tig 162 r-line with DAP & sunroof last week - it was the last one for delivery this year according to dealer with supply chain reports indicating no more available until 2018. Anyone heard otherwise or similar?

Thanks for that Mac135. On the NADCON sheetshot it states "Handover to Production" : 15/4, so you are pretty spot on with the time frames.

So now its back to waiting waiting waiting....

The waiting just seems endless at this stage. For some reason once you have the VIN (around middle April by the sounds of it) the car starts to feel real. It's not like it has a personality but it is a 'thing' once you have the VIN. Tracking it on the water helps too I think.

Hi All, I picked up my 162tsi r-line w DAP and sunroof last week. Have only done about 250kms so far, but really impressed to date. Technology is excellent, engine feels strong and responsive (albeit different feel coming from a mk6 GTI), really enjoy the slightly higher driving position and car feels really planted on the road. Looking forward to clocking up more kms soon and I'll provide some more thoughts.

However, disappointingly got a park brake error today. It says the park brake has a fault and I can't turn parks brake on and now also can't turn off as when I try to drive off it says brake is still engaged (although it's faulty?!?).

Will be taking into dealer first thing this week but just wanted to flag the issue and see if anyone else has experienced it.

Hi guys, I finally managed to get a screen shot of the NADCON but it seem like nothing to what you guys are discussing. Mine has the planned CP8 week with 19.2017 and the rest are all empty. Production ID, Checkpoint, Vehicle ID etc all empty. I do have at the bottom Entry Dealer System with 17/10/16, Entry NADIN 17/10/16 and Entry FAVAS 19/10/16. I have non of the SGW, VWA and Hand over to production etc. am I missing something here?

Also I actually sign and ordered the car in mid Nov 16 but the dealer said they actually ordered one as inventory stock in Oct 17 and they given that one to me. If this is suppose to make me feel better it's not working. I don't see how I can get the car delivered in July as I was told if there are no dates on the screen shots. Can anyone explain? Thanks.

CP8 stands for Checkpoint 8 - this is where the car has finished assembly and handed over to sales - i.e. ready to be transported to the ports. If my understanding is correct week 19 is the week beginning May 8th. Add a week to get to the port, sitting around for another week waiting for the ship and and 6 weeks of transportation which gives it a July delivery.

With my own experience you don't get the SGW dates until a month before the car enters production i.e. gets built and the Vehicle ID after the car gets built.

From what I can tell you more than likely will get your car in July. Give it another month or so and ask for a NADCON update. I was told by my sales manager that the dates do bounce around a bit in this system.

So I have had my R line with DAP+ sunroof 162tsi for about 6 weeks now, engine has been quite frugal actually and there's plenty of power when put into sports, used it on the highway and power delivery is excellent. Also went out to Windsor (west of sydney) and due to the rains over the past few weeks, the dirt roads there and giant potholes were prominent, was with my wife and put it onto off-road mode and instantly could tell the difference, ride was a lot smoother going over the bumps and you can really feel the suspension on the car riding the bumps nicely, wasn't going anymore than 10kms per hour, but the car was adjusting itself well. In terms of petrol I was a tad concerned on the first couple of fill ups, it was giving me readings of 12-14l/100kms in traffic, but once I done a couple of tanks, it's proved to be quite economical. I've had readings of 7.6l per 100kms on highways and now the car is averaging 10.1L/100kms ( I'm a bit of a lead foot, I admit ). Got my free 1 month or 5000km service today, the only two issues I have with the car so far, I have weathershields on front and rear, but on the right rear, I think due to how it's been installed/super slim line weathershields put on by the servicing dept prior to pick up, I only picked this up last week when my brother sat in the back, was that when he put the window down, it made a scratching sound, so when he put it up, the window banged in the weather shield and puts itself back down, after trying to put the window up on a few occasions, and having to pull the weather shield towards me from outside, we got the window up, but this has now caused the weather shield to have 2 chips in it, I'm hoping I get a new one altogether to replace it today. Last point, I don't know if this has happened to anyone else, but on a few occasions, when I put the car into reverse to park it, the 360 camera as well as the rear camera doesn't come up on the screen, only sensors work, I would have to put the car to park, shut down the engine, then start the engine and put into reverse and it will then come on, maybe just a software glitch, will ask this morning. Other than that, it's been a great car so far, got 2000kms already on the clock! Reading everyone excited (or upset) about waiting for their car brings back some memories and have been checking every now and then to see how things have progressed for all! Will post how my first service experience goes.

Likely to be late July as you need to allow a couple of weeks once it's landed here before you get delivery.

Once the car goes into production it is a very efficient system the cars get to the port within a couple of days and there are plenty of boats. I'm waiting on an S3 (currently off Sth Africa) and when I was trying to guess which boat my car would be on there was a choice of Five departing early to mid March. The efficiency of the shipping seems at odds with the mucking around and uncertainity of the pre-production.

Hey guys. I've had my 162TSI (with DAP but no R-Line) for two weeks now and couldn't help but come here and share a few quick observations. I absolutely love this car and you guys that are still waiting are in for a treat. It's the little, unexpected things that delight most. Here's just a few examples:

- I was reversing out of a parking spot with my view blocked by a van to me left. The rear traffic alert beeped and warned me that a car that I couldn't possibly see was about to fly past behind me.

- My wife and I have a key fob each and the Tig remembers our seat and wing mirror positions and gets them ready as soon as we unlock the car.

- I was reversing the car in a tight space and was distracted by the kids arguing in the back seat. The Tig threw on the brakes and saved me from (probably) reversing into the car behind me.

- The ACC is excellent. I've travelled the whole length of Church Street in Melbourne (busy 40km/60km street) and Hoddle Street (busy 60km/70km) street without touching the brakes or the accelerator.

There's only one thing that I've found to be truly terrible. The VW navigation system. It never understands what I'm saying, manually entering an address is painful, it rarely has the POI I'm looking for, and the voice is annoying. Compared to Google Maps, it's a piece of crap and feels like it was designed 10 years ago. You can use Google Maps via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, but (1) These don't work over Bluetooth, so you have to plug your phone in (2) Google Maps won't display on the digital dashboard (3) No speed limit is shown on Google Maps. I would have paid extra to have Google Maps properly integrated.

Thanks for the review. Always nice to here. I don't have mine yet (should get it next week) but I'm curious to see if you can try the myGuide app. It's pretty much the only car-net feature we actually get, and the app is apparently meant to allow you to "Start navigating directly from the app". Presumably you can enter your destination in the app and it will start the navigation in the Discover Pro unit. Maybe give it a try?
