Well, 5 days in, and happy! Fuel consumption appalling for first few days, now improving leaps and bounds, especillay since I found the eco setting! Quite happy with Carribean blue, maybe I just need to be different on this! Self parking almost a disaster, just slammed the brakes in time. And the ACC, lane guidance working much better now I’ve read the owners manual and know which buttons to push. It sure is a learning curve, simply a matter of how much you try out before taking the rest of it for granted! Traffic info and DAB radio would’ve helped, I enjoyed those in the Xtrail I’ve just moved on from...... And very pleased to have spent up big time on the 162. More posts coming as I get more used to it.....

I got to test out the automatic brake system reversing into the garage today. It's a tight garage and can do it with my eyes closed but the sensors freaked out and locked up all the breaks giving me a heart attack.. atleast I know the feature works!

HA! same. Reversing out of driveway, have to shimmy past other vehicle (have done it a 1000 times in other car), Tiguan beeping like mad, suddenly freaked and locked up. Thought I'd hit the back of the STI with the brand new car. Nope... Bet I could have made it too.

Yeah for some reason it just freaks out now and then... the work car park the sensors go mental and there wasn't anything close to it... couldn't figure it out...
The auto braking did save my ass in my GTI though... reversing out of our driveway (car either side) someone came flying down the hill. it hits the brakes pretty hard!

Now officially have been without my new Tiguan longer than I had it for.
Currently driving a rental Mitsubishi Outlander which has been provided by VW.
2 cars are like chalk & cheese.
Hope the new compressor arrives soon as I am forgetting what my Rline 162 was like.

Driving the Tiguan again reinforces my opion that it is definitly the best mid size SUV. Outlander was an honest car and definitely is far cheaper, but not in the race with Tiguan.
If anybody complains about the DSG again I will tell them to drive a CVT. Talk about rubbery drive. Makes lots of noise as revs rise but without the actual forward acceleration I was expecting.

Paint protection is also better through a 3rd party detailer.. for what you get i recommend holding off and using the cash saved to find a good detailer. (But this is only my opinion)
