Any news from the 'next shipment' crew? I havent received any updates or the 'im shipped' email yet. Seems to have taken a while between built and shipped (almost 3 weeks now)

The dealer just advised me the ship arrives in Melbourne on 02 March so I will have the car by mid March. He was not aware of the ship details etc as I know there are people on this forum which followed the ships movements. I would be surprised if your car was not on the same ship. The countdown has begun haha

Does anyone know if the sat nav system takes into account traffic level when deciding on which route to take? The sat nav in my previous car is almost useless in Sydney roads as it keeps bringing me head first into traffic jams.

Thanks mate, thats good to know. The missus just checked our Tig page and noticed it has changed to 'im shipped' progress!!!! If the dealer calls I will ask for the VIN and get nerd on the boat movements

Yes that's what I'm planning to do but I heard the Active Info Display in the Tiguan doesn't show Google Maps from Android Auto.

When using Android Auto or Apple Car Play, maps won't show in the dashboard AID, only on the Discover media unit. When using the car's maps it will show on both the AID and the Discover.

Yes that's how I understood it. That's why I want to find out if the car's sat nav system considers live traffic when calculating the most optimal route to take. If it doesn't then it kind of forces me to choose between using Google Maps from my phone on the Discover media unit or the AID but without live traffic.

As it comes from the factory live traffic updates aren't included but you can enable them with obdeleven which I've done but I haven't done any testing to see if it uses the info in route calculation

I have been given the VIN and tried to get my nerd on but the website other users on here previously used to track the vehicle on the ship does not allow it due to privacy concerns. At this stage I have no idea how to track the ship. If you or any other users have any tips i'd love to hear them!!

It doesn’t seem to. I used it on the way home from work tonight and it wanted me to go Hoddle Street which frankly is a carpark. It said the trip would take 25minutes. Google said 2 hours. I chose to use Google!
