          Agree Tapatalk is great for loading pictures from your phone but for everything else the web version is better.

              Things didn't quite happen late this afternoon and then my wife needed to go to the shops and get her nails done before Easter so long story short I'm picking up the car in the morning. Well I did have her car all week so I guess that's understandable.

              There's a base file in it but I've been told no WOT and no running to redline so it'll be mild levels of boost/midrange running only.

              • Better put a brick or a piece of timber under the accelerator pedal so you don't get excited haha.

                  Your wife sounds very tolerant, mine would have gone bananas if she didn’t have transport for the week.

                  I guess no launch control until the HPFP and tune is in

                    Yes she has been very accommodating - especially since we picked up her new car on Monday night and I’ve been driving it all week. She literally only drove it from the dealership home and I’ve had it since. She has vented a couple of times...[emoji35][emoji85]

                    And no LC or 0-100 runs for at least another week.

                      Right picked up the car this morning and it's certainly a different beast.

                      Its nicely driveable in lower rpm area under 2,500rpm which is where the turbo starts to spool and really starts getting going around 2,800rpm. From there the tacho moves rather rapidly towards 6,000rpm. File is currently on 23psi base map and not going to do much more than daily duties for the next week or so.

                      Apart from a rattle which is (I think) heatshield it's all pretty good. Cruises along fine, nice little bit of turbo whistle at low rpms under load. But it's quiet at 90km/hr on the expressway.

                      Probably could do with a bit more exhaust note as there's definitely more growl coming from the engine / downpipe and not much (nothing at all) out the back. Once I get the rattle fixed and the HPFP in and tuned I'll post up a full review along with dyno charts.

                      • What DP are you running. Generally speaking most aftermarket DP have been the source of rattles as or needs to be modified to fit. After my hangers were adjusted again the rattle went away.

                          RD Technik Mk7 R DP fits better on the Tig than on the Golf! Actually needed to shorten the catback section f the stock exhaust by 30mm to get proper fitment - probably because of the reducer. Also spoke to the workshop and they said most likely a small exhaust leak but will get it back there in the week after Easter/Anzac for round 2.

                          I know a couple of others have also experienced small rattles after install so I'm not too worried.

                            Most downpipes will have some sort of adjustment required, either at the turbo clamp, exhaust hangers, cat/midpipe clamp or reducer. The APR downpipe fits well without the need for shortening the OEM exhaust/cat back. I did have a rattle near the cat/midpipe clamp that needed tightening, but I think your cat is situated in the OEM position....as you say likely to be some part of the heat shield that needs to be bent away from the pipe.

                            • Maybe cut off the slip joiner and get a set of self-locating v-bands, 1x step down reducer & an exhaust bellow.

                              I know it's not "Euro" spec, but those slip joiners on Euro cars are a nightmare and I hate them. I've been under the Tiguan a few times and itching to mod it, but the wife said to finish off the R33 before I touch her car haha
