Maps and POIs for Discover Media

Yeah you need to be careful you get the right maps.
You may have also notice this is the Golf MK7 folder and I did say they were for MIB 1. If you are looking the MK2 Tiguan than that is MIB 2 or Discover Pro mapping depending on what system you got.

At a guess I'll say the other maps will be released over the next couple of weeks as they all come out 6 monthly, so keep a watch out on the links.

Oops so sorry on mobile and didn't even notice the MK7 tag!

MY14 VW Golf 103TSI with Discovery Media & V2 SD card.

Same old issue has reappeared .... since the download only has the AUS - the green route number boxes on major roads are blank (e.g. route no B63).

Anyone else experiencing this?

Did you use a mac? If PC, did you use 7zip to do the actual extraction?

Did use a Mac to download & unpacked using 7zX.app then switched over to Win7 (using bootcamp so the card reader worked) & formatted the SD card then copied files onto the SD card less the OSX created files.

Do I need to do the whole process on Windows side including the unpack or the whole process on OSX side?

I just did it all on with Windows rather than OSX and issue solved. Route icon numbers populated.

Curiousity ... have you been able to get safety camera POI warnings to work?

Ya I had the same problem previously with Macs. Doing it all in windows fixed it for me too

No luck with speed cam POI as it's not supported in my MIB1

hmm......... just found-out about VW's "Discovware" update software for navigation systems (UK site) - download versions available for both MS windows and the other one (Apple -I think ). Not used it yet, but looks interesting....!

I've previously used the manual method -Anyone used Discovware?

Hi I am having the MIB2 unit. I tried to update the latest map 2017 -2018.
However, it seems my volkswagen SD card doesn't have enough space for that.
Does anyone, which folder is for the AUS map only? Therefore, I can ignore the others excess folders.

You need to follow the instructions and backup everything on your sdcard, then delete all contents.
Then you can copy the new maps

Yes I did follow in the instructions. And delete all content. But still not enough space

I noticed yesterday when I started copying the new maps across that I was nearing the size of the SD card. The card is only 7.45GB and the updated maps were 7.15GB (unpacked). I bought a 64GB SD card, I'm going to format it to FAT and see if the head unit detects the map database.
