Maps and POIs for Discover Media

Hi All,

I have been following this thread closely, however hoping someone can help. ive got a mk 7 Wolfsburg Hatch and it seems i am running the latest maps. I had this done while having some work done on replacing my mirrors at the same time.
My System Information is showing:

The problem i now face though is i seem to have lost my traffic reports, which i enabled using OBD Eleven. When presing the traffic report button on the head unit "TMC" is now crossed out. Since having the new map update i checked to make sure the Traffic Report settings were correct in both OBDEleven and on the Discover Media Nav unit and am stumped as to why the reports arent showing anymore. I have read in a previous thread that the Map update P68 works fine with Traffic Reports. I have even downloaded the P68 map udpate (approx 24GB) however my understanding is map updates for my unit can only be done via the supplied SD card from factory, which only holds 8GB of data.

Hoping someone can please help with my dilemma. Would love to have TMC working again and unfortunately i dont have a backup of my previous maps stored anywhere. Cheers

I went back to previous version of map to get my TMC working again as TMC did not work for me either with MRM2 2018/19.

Yep as you had said, reverting back to the 0821 map revision brought back TMC. I have also read that the Map update from December 2017 also is working with TMC. I believe its the update before the latest P71 release.

Has anyone got a link or a back up for the ROW P68 maps (released December 2017) for the Discover Media Navigation MIB2 unit - Not Pro version, that i can test out.

The map update cannot be any bigger than 7.5 GB as this is the capacity of the OEM SD card we get from VW for our MIB2 head units.

Can anyone help me with a copy of an original "metainfo2.txt" file - I have a 2013 Golf MQB here with discoverpro and it can't read that file.

2013 year map was a no go also. Followed the instructions to the letter but the screen displayed the dreaded 'The navigation data in the infotainment system are not valid. Please check data.' Reloaded my back up V1 and I'm back to original.

My SD card is part number 5G0919866A.
2015 DB info is for part number 5G0919866R

system info with v1 map installed is:

Any chance you can send me your maps file as I deleted my back up and have no maps.

Here is my file including all the cameras in Australia (fixed, red light, point to point, mobile, etc) altogether 1912 map points. Created by POInspector software and POIs downloaded from poidb.com. Also added the POIs for Mcdonalds.

If you are struggling to import POIs to your Discover Media unit, try this. Download the zip file, unzip it and copy the PersonalPOI directory and the metainfo2.txt file onto your SD card then import it.

The file(s) are 4.9Gb & being about the only area in Oz still with (very slow) ADSL2+ it would take forever plus a few days!
